I've seen like one of you in a week. I personally don't use them cause clunk, bar space and it's a little trashy to rely on bad targeting mechanics.
I just wanted to say God bless your cotton socks and keep fighting the good fight.
I switched back to magsorc from magblade a few weeks ago. I thought twilight was going to be awesome, but the heal was underwhelming and really expensive. The pet is unreliable outside of 1v1, so overall not a lot to like about petsorc imo. Healing ward is still good and only takes 1 bar space, surprised so few sorcs use it.

I didn't run one for an age. I didn't switch for meta, i switched because Healing Ward got nerfed, and i needed undressed health with nerfmire. It was time to move away from Restro and the pets are our only class heal.
Bad / noob Folks hate on the pets but they have plenty of downsides and they are way weaker since last patch. Folks just like to shine when they can't counter something by learning that extra 1% required.
Give us a viable one bar class heal, and I'm there.

Combat prayer is your friend. Plus it gives you more damage.

I’ve tried it and I’ve found it just wasn’t a big enough heal when you’re outnumbered.

It does just a slightly less amount of healing than Ward. But it is guaranteed to land on you. Healing Ward was always unreliable if you were around lower health allies. It is also costs 800 mag less at base.
On top of that, Combat prayer gives you minor ward and resolve and minor berserk. It is a really strong skill, one I was using on my petless magsorc prior to the healing ward changes.
That's why pets were unpopular before nerfs. Not only are pets annoying to fight, but they also waste a bunch of skills in our skill line.
A lot of players don’t realize that non pet sorcs are probably the biggest anti pet proponents. Not only are pets annoying to fight, but they also waste a bunch of skills in our skill line.

Those Sorcs you mention do exist, but they are clueless at best or even delusional. They've always hated the pets, sometimes for good reason, and stubbornly believe that if they keep whining that ZOS will eventually cave and replace the pets with other spells. Having observed ZOS since 2014, I can assure you that is NEVER going to happen. I can not envision any scenario where ZOS would devote the necessary resources to overhaul the Sorcerer skill lines to that extent.
No, the only changes ZOS are likely to make are to buff the pets, nerf the pets or merely tweak them. To everyone on this thread who wants to NERF a whole skill line into uselessness, I can only say:
NOPE.
Dark deal/conversion has nice heals, but its with delay and can be interrupted which makes it good only to restore your resources in middle of combat

I don’t care if people run pets; I do care, though, that they screw up targeting. Fix the targeting issues, and I wouldn’t care one iota about your zoos. It’s really frustrating to get someone into execute range, and then see my Wrath spam wasted on a pet while the sorc I’m fighting heals back up to full.

The thing with Dark Deal/Conversion is that it really shines when used in conjunction with either immovable pots or Streak. They can’t interrupt you if you’re immune or if you’re out of range. One of the primary reasons why I don’t run Twilight Matriarch is Dark Conversion is so good. In open world, I pair it with Curse Eater on my back bar to function as both a purge and as a burst heal. Plus, running Dark Conversion means I don’t have to worry so much about magicka recovery. It is a must have for me, and there just isn’t room for it if I have to dedicate two skill slots to a pet.
