Why does roll dodge automatically roll backwards now?

I've noticed this for a while now, roll dodge is automatically rolling backwards, rather than forward when there is no directional control.
Maybe it's just me noticing this?
Roll dodge backward used to require legitimate skill to do effectively and now it's not only ezmoad, it's borderline annoying when it goes off by accident doing other tasks.

Interesting hmm. I know it has been doing this to me for a while now but it definitely wasn't always that way for me.
