Why don't I have Morrowind?

I hadn't played ESO in a few years, but wanted to come back and check out the new expansion. So I downloaded and reinstalled the base game, then purchased and installed Elsweyr. I thought this would include Morrowind. Especially since my friend, who had never played, purchased the base game, then the expansion, and has full access to these. He is not subbed.

Shouldn't I have these too, since I already had purchased the base game?

You probably purchased the Elsweyr Upgrade, not the Elsweyr Standard Edition.

What can I do about this now? I don't want to pay for another?

Buy the dlc from crown store.

Yep, this. ESO+ subscribers can access all DLC while they are subbed, but if you're not then you have to buy the DLC separately. So you'd have to purchase Morrowind if you want to play through Vvardenfell.

I don't have nearly enough crowns for that. If I purchase crowns, I am paying another $25 for Morrowind and Summerset. I didn't need the base game, because I already had it, so that's why I chose the upgrade. I didn't know it wouldn't upgrade fully.

I guess I will sub, at least until I get enough crowns to purchase these.

    Thanks for the replies.

I feel like this wasn't presented well.
Elsweyr, as a standalone Chapter costs $39.99. (I agree that the price is garbage for what you're getting compared to what 40 bucks gets you in other games, but that is that). Not sure which platform you bought your game on, but stores generally display the different versions of the product, so you could've seen that the Upgrade doesn't include any extras like the Standard Edition ($59.99) does. Like when you say you 'chose the upgrade because you didn't need the base game' you should've also noticed that the upgrade comes with neither the base game, nor Morrowind or Summerset.

Not sure if you can refund it now, tbh. If you consider the asking price of 3,500 crowns too much (and it is pretty high yeah), you could buy an ESO+ sub for $14.99, and you can play through Morrowind and Summerset (and all other DLCs) in that time. You'd also get 1650 crowns with your month of sub, and the only reason anybody would need MW&SS is for the two trials (HoF and CR if you need to farm anything from them), Jewelcrafting (useless really, just ask someone to craft it for you), and the Psijic Skill line (which you can actually keep after your sub runs out).

Alternatively, if crown purchases aren't an option, you can actually get DLCs gifted to you via the crown store. You can offer gold for the DLC and many people are happy to engage in such an exchange. Good luck either way!

This, or wait until next year and buy the correct edition if they offer it then like the SS above. Subbing is a way to rent it.

Yes, but subbing for 2 or 3 months will earn me enough crowns to then purchase these. Then I can drop my sub and have these, or keep it for all the perks. I'll make that decision when the time comes.

In the meantime, this is a solution I am comfortable with.

    ok, thats just ***.

Just because you click on the first thing you get doesnt mean the evil corporation is manipulating you.

I bought Elsweyr too after I didnt play since Tamriel unlimited, and it took me exactly 5 minutes to see that the Digital Upgrade does not come with Morrowind and Summerset, and that information was clearly displayed on the ZOS store.

Honestly, stop blaming ZOS for your own mistakes.

They had a clear list of what was and wjhat wasnt included in the different versions of the game!

An upgrade should be just that. It should upgrade your game completely to the current expansion you are purchasing.

Why would anyone who already has the base game think they need to purchase the base game again, instead of just upgrading their game?

It makes no sense that they included Morrowind and Summerset with the standard edition, but not the upgrade. Both versions should have resulted in the player receiving the full game.

Also, other MMO's include all previous expansions with the base game when a new expansion is released. It's not unreasonable to think they would do the same.

Last year they were offering Morrowind to anyone buying an early release of summerset, regardless of the version, so i find it devious of them making such a difference that time betweeen normal and upgrade versions (and i must admit i didn't notice it until i read that post)

oh, and some stores don't list summerset and morrowind as included in either version (official distributors, jut not ZOS directly) : https://www.greenmangaming.com/games/the-elder-scrolls-online-elsweyr-digital-collectors-edition-pc/

In light of this, they really should include these with all the versions. But I'll just continue with my work around, as I doubt it will happen.

Perhaps put in a ticket and explain the confusion. Maybe CS will help you out.

Morrowind now comes included with the cheapest version of the base game (currently on sale for $9.99). I don't see why you'd need to purchase it separately. I bet Customer Service can help you with this if you send in a ticket.
