Hey, a Dragon Spawn on the map...

Oh, nevermind, its a bit away and I will need like a minute to get there, no way its still alive by then...

Arent Dragon fights supposed to be Epic Boss Battles? The hardest part about them is reaching them in time to still get some loot...

Yeah yeah, I know "In 2 years, when noone goes thare any more, they will be challenging!"

Cant they scale by the amount of players around them or sth like that? I mean, cmone, the whole world scales with your character, you cant tell me you cant have boss mobs scale with the number of players in an area...

the placement of the wayshrines vs. where the dragons are is a bit annoying at times to be honest...i wish they would have made it a bit easier / faster to reach the dragons

There is nothing about these Dragons that has to be made easier.

i think you missunderstand me, i dont think the dragons should be easier to fight but it can be annoying to get to them in time

Not sure what you are talking about. I rode from the town in the north to the bottom left side of the map to get to a dragon fight that had spawned and it was only at half health when I arrived. Even with 20+ players these fights take a while and provide plenty of time for players to show up in time.

Well you can't expect them to just fly around and land in convenient places to be killed?

I mean, I don't know why they need to land in random spots anyway. One is always up when I check (sometimes several up at the same time) and the next one is respawning not long after one dies. That's like creating five copies of the same world boss, making them spawn in different locations but making sure that one of them will always be up...

So.. mechanically speaking there'd be no difference than if they just made one 'dragon roost' boss area with one dragon world boss that was on a longer respawn timer.

But there would be a difference? Currently, there is almost always a dragon available to fight somewhere in the world. What you propose is to have 1 location with a long respawn. So, effectively, never any chance that another dragon is ready the moment you kill 1.

Dragons are not world bosses. They are more like Dolmens. Dolmens spawn in a rotation and there is always one ready to go. And, from a wayshrine standpoint, Dragons are far more forgiving. There aren't any dragon spawn locations that required you to swim or ride halfway across the map from a wayshrine.

Either you’re not porting til the dragon is half hp, icon changes to be all cracked, or you’re walking across the whole map

I’ve never found dragon fight hard to reach after the first time I see the location

The only one I can get to on time is in the NW, all the others are too far. Maybe it's just me, but this map is just as annoying as Craglorn, I can't tell if I'm going to run into a mountain with no way around or if I'm going to be diving to my death. Wayshrine placement is terrible.

DragonA spawns North with GroupA fighting it, DragonB spawns South with GroupB fighting it (because they were closest to these). Players in the middle of the map can decide if they want to ride North or South, but chances are that when they get there and kill that dragon, the other one will be dead by the time they're finished. So they killed one dragon. Then DragonC spawns to the East and players have to port/ride there to catch it in time.

So essentially the time it takes you to ride to your next dragon (one that is alive) is the respawn timer of the World Boss, and everybody would still kill the same number of dragons if it was just one location. And yes, the rotation of the dragons is certainly dolmen/geyser like, but they are World Bosses in mechanics. I've never seen groups of people get one-shot by dolmen.

The wayshrines are in weird places imho, but the dragons land in nice clear spots. Maybe move the wayshrines not the dragons.

Being there is just one dragon you are dealing with at a time they cannot scale like Dolmens do. Further, a one shot because you derped the mechanic should still be a one shot.

OP is complaining because when we are at prime time and half the Zone is fighting the dragon the fight goes fast. It seems kind of obvious.

Once this zone quiets down then people can work to form groups to go dragon hunting which may be the actual idea behind them. Finally ESO has a WB that is actually like a WB should be. It should never be scale down to solo of very small groups.

I think some of it is a matter of timing, and getting to know the map. After doing several dragon fights, I have noticed that there are area's in the map that are otherwise flat empty area's. These spots are where the dragons land for combat. Everyone of these spots has a high perch for the dragon to land on for a ranged phase of the battle that sometimes has adds on the ground for you to combat.

After I figured out the paths from the wayshrines, sometimes it was just faster to ride from one dragon to another rather than take a wayshrine.

The ones in the Northwest corner are all very close to the wayshrine.
