Skyrim Vampire and Lycanthropes

We have unlock some major regions recently and it is only a matter of time before more of Skyrim is unlocked. I think this would be a perfect opportunity to ad new Vampires and Lycanthropes skill lines to the game. This is my suggestion.

Vampire:

"Volkihar: The Volkihar vampires of eastern Skyrim live under haunted, frozen lakes and only leave their dens to feed. They have the power to freeze their victims with icy breath, and can reach through the ice of their frozen lake dens without breaking the ice. The Volkihar vampires are relatively similar in appearance to those of Cyrodiil and they share some similar powers such as night vision, the ability to turn invisible and the ability to seduce others. Certain Volkihar vampires however appear more monstrous than their Cyrodiilic counterparts- some of them have large brow ridges, slits running through their lips, and bat-like noses, and they have powers which aren't shared by the vampires of Cyrodiil- they can reanimate dead bodies and do not burn when in sunlight (although they are weakened by it). Some of the more ancient Volkihar vampires such as those of the Volkihar Clan Court at Castle Volkihar can even transform themselves into a more monstrous form- the large, winged Vampire Lord form which grants them further powers such as the ability to summon gargoyles."

This would give the vampires a transformative skill line with many skills that could be added to it. One Ultimate could have a Gargoyle pet while the other does more damage, similar to the WW. It can also give them cold damage and feed on blood to stay in form.

Werebear:

"A large form of lycanthrope said to be prominent in northern tundras of Tamriel. Almost thought to be folklore in Nordic cultures. Legend holds that smearing canis root on the trees surrounding one's home wards off werebears. Hunting packs of this strain have been found on the island of Solstheim."

Werebear has been a much sought after Lycanthrope since the early days of Elder Scrolls and it is about time they can get introduced. Instead of being a dps for it can take on a tank for with a roar that can taunt and abilities that assist with tanking such as minor maim and Major Fracture and Breach.

This is just my idea. What do you think? Leave a comment on why you think this would be a bad or good idea below

they have been milking skyrim and your typical fantasy stuff enough, theres plenty of unique elderscrolls lore they could use like wereboars if you like the lycanthropy stuff. Hell i would love to see the more unique stuff like that in eso and less hey kids remember skyrim? well DRAGONS!

Lol just let Skyrim go please. It’s been almost 8-9 years

If you want Skyrim then be my guest and go and play that game but this is ESO. It needs Its own identity not being in Skyrim’s shadow trying to be like it

I agree it would be cool to see vampire/lycanthropy expanded on, I think they should use all of Tamriel as a base for lore, not just Skyrim.

I agree. Eso is more than about skyrim, but Skyrim will be unlocked eventually. It is inevitable and may be soon. I just suggested that when they do to base new skill lines to Vamp and Lycan that are prominent in the region. It has nothing to do with "IWANTSKYRIMNEOW". Werebear and Vampire lord are the most requested skills in ESO and they reside predominantly in skyrim and no where else.

It would be quite awesome. Especially since a lot of people like the werebears in Skyrim.

Good idea, I hope it happens.

    I say no.
But i would like to see more werewolf skins. Werebear or werecrocodile (argonian) would be sweet. Or a smaller version of those beefy werewolves in Wolfhunter.

As for vampires...I'm sure they well get a touch up by the devs in the upcoming vampire dungeon dlc which we all know is coming. Doubt they'll add a new transformation to vampires due to avoiding stealing the werewolves gimmick. But I expect there to be a few changes. Like a vampire masquerade ability that hides your vampire-ism if you have it slotted on your skill bar. I'd wager this will coincide with the justice system change that will add being a stage 4 vampire in town causes guards to attack you if you don't have it slotted.

Would be nice if they added different "skins" for WW. So for example you could look like other were-cratures (example: were-lion, were-crocodile, were-boar, were-bear etc.) Also it would be nice if those skins had to options. One for "Black" ww ulti morph, and one for the "white" ww ulti morph + different pets.

What I would not like to see however is such a skins beeing locked behind some imposible to do content (like new trial vet hm). Why ? Because WW would never be able to compleat such a content and top min-maxers would not use it anyway as WW is never used in high-end content.

Perfect way to add this is something that an Average player can get. You know, RP, overland, quest grinding etc. Or maybe on the same way as event Indryk mount ? By doing all type of content and buying it using event tokens.

I would love this a lot and it is very much needed, anyone who thinks we don't need these or "there isn't enough room" is quite wrong. This is an MMO, there is room for a different strand of vampires to provide players with MORE options.

Though, personally I'd also like to see them add in a hunter skill line as well along with these. Maybe even replace werebear honestly. Nevertheless, I still like the idea a lot.

Did some research, but when the Vampire was being developed it was going to get a Thrall ability that allowed you to take a humanoid NPC from the world and make it your pet. This would have been a HUGE benefit to the game. Necropotence would have been useful to all magick build rather than just sorcerer. It would have been awesome to make a thrall orc, elf, or khajit. Just saying.

Besides the ideas not sounding interesting to me, Zos has enough of a challenge balancing what we already have. We do not need to create duplicate lines of the same thing to add more challenge to them. If we are going to add something it should be something everyone can get into and add volume to the game, not a little sliver.

Different strands of vampirism? Yes please! Same goes for the lycanthropes. Just thinking about this makes my roleplayer heart jump!

    Vampires
    • Lamae: Introduce sun light penalty for vampires other than her strand when outside.
    • Whet-fang: Join them and get a comatoes cattle assistant furniture thing to feed on whenever you please.
    • Cyrodiilic: Should being a stage 4 vampire become a criminal act in the future, the Cyrodilic strand is the exception.
    • Volkihar: Frost or slow resistance maybe?
    • Aundae (Altmer only option): symbolic 20 magicka recovery
    • Quarra: symbolic 20 stamina recovery
    • Berne: reduced sneak cost
    • Keerilth: symbolic reduction to the cost or symbolic increase in potency of mist form
    • I didn't go through all the Illiac bay clans because they are way too many and at least three of them should be the Lamae one due to their origin. Telboth can't make it because there are no children. Similarly the Yekef can hardly make use of their specialty and be balanced, unless maybe through a custom feed animation that leaves no victim and no bounty unless witnessed...
    Lycanthropes
    • Packleader morph should be changed for the different Lycanthropy forms, possibly not granting pets to others than werewolfs at all
      • Werebears could be reasonably more tanky or perhaps have a taunt on heavy or bash attacks.
      • Weresharks could get swimspeed
      • Wereboars could get reduced sprint cost
      • Werebat (probably too different from the base Werewolf to be realistic) could get a reasonable bit of on-hit healing
      • Werecrocodile could get a bite attack as a heavy attack
      • Werelion could get a slightly reduced roar cost
      • Werevulture could get a greater bonus to duration from devouring corpses. Also probably too hard to animate to be realistic.
This Bosmer was tortured to death. There is nothing left to be done.

So I like the initiative, but you know what would be even cooler? If you had the volkihar and werebears, as well as the vampire clans from Morrowind and different werebeast variants from lore, which I have wanted for a while. We've already seen some of the other vampire variants from Immortal Blood, it's time for the Were-Croc to rise.

Honestly. I don't want vampire transformation as its considered quite a rare occurrence, just normal non pure Volkihar underling works for me with ice magic.... and those funky noses, eyes and lips. :P
