I recently canceled my ESO + sub for various reasons. But trying to play the game without it is so terrible, especially after having access to it for years. The game felt like way too much work without it, bags always full, bank full. I re subbed ZOS... good game... You beat me.

You make me feel like a feeble minded drug addict, the drug being pure convenience.

I second that. Worst is that with the inclusion of new sets and jewelry crafting it became worse for everyone, especially the free to play crowd

I use my guild traders as a place to put all that stuff.
I constantly sell my materials I list junk gear I pick up all the time.
Then either I get gold for it or I am able to "store it" for 2 months in store and mail.

There is a lot of stuff I just don't pick up any more and I just decon everything.. all helmets all shoulders, if you aren't divines, Impen or study (for heavy) I am not storing you. And only infused or sharpened weapons matter.

I then got even tighter and I started throwing away trash sets even with good traits.

You just got to not horde, don't pick up trash and decon everything.

Here's what helps me play without the crafting bag:

    1) Dedicated crafter with a fully upgraded inventory - he holds about 1/2 the materials I keep.

    2) Not hording other stuff - so there's plenty of space in my bank and housing chests for the other 1/2 the materials. Each character carries their own equipment, and if I don't need it now I deconstruct or sell it and any spare furnishings go in a house I'm not using - which now is the Psijic Villa.

    3) Keeping it all organised. I've experimented with a few systems but my current one is to keep trait and style materials in chests (because I don't get them as often), Blacksmithing, Woodworking and Clothier materials in the bank and everything else on my crafter.

    4) Not picking up stuff I don't need - especially cooking materials which I have far too many of.

    5) Selling stuff I don't need - for example if I get above 200 of an item in storage I have to give myself a clear reason why I'm keeping it (e.g. I'm about to make a set of CP160 gear so all that CP150/60 material will get used) and if not I sell it, no keeping things just in case.

I'm currently devising a plan to deal with this situation when my sub expires in a couple weeks because breaking habits is fun! Auto-loot will be turned off and Nuzhimeh will definitely become my permanent sidekick. Not sure if I'll be able to continue daily crafting writs with 8 characters but inventories, storage and bank are maxed and cleaned up so we shall see. The last time I tried this it lasted about 10 minutes before re-sub'ing :p

You can get a second account more cheaply than a month sub. If you want long term, you can buy 9 extra accounts just to create a guild and have a private guild bank.

You can purchase houses and get storage crates to fill up in them, you can get a lot of extra storage that way. Just keep a note of where you have store the different items. For example you could have one house dedicated entirely to jewelry. Disclaimer: I haven't actually done this because im contend with ESO+ that awards me its value in crowns too and all DLC, but Im sure you could put storage boxes right next to the entry/exit in your house.

No need for that. As ESO+ promotions exist to sell us the baggins, game promotions exist as well where you can make an account for one week for free. Make 9 and have a private guild bank, or two.

Heck, you can even make more if you like. Even more than 5 if you use 2 real main accounts.

So, that’s where ZOS gets it’s 13.5 million players from? ;)

The fix is take that saved money and buy other games with it. When I don't feel like playing Inventory Management Online I go to one of the other 30 or so games on my PC and spend money there.

Don't worry. You are not alone. As for feeling like a drug addict, I look at it as I am buying 1650 crowns a month, and all the perks are free. :)

So no, we are not drug addicts. We are supporting Zenimax Online by buying 1650 crowns a month. Just nice to get the rest of the perks. :D
Not my quote but I love this saying
