Spear of Bitter Mercy

Honestly, i don't know what to say, that was one of my favorite weapons in Morrowind from 2003-2004 when I got from that amazing Sheogorath's quest. And now it is something bland and plain?
I don't want to be rude, but can we follow previous lore/concepts at least for single items which is selling at 1200 crowns??
It may be unclear from picture but original spear was with 4 blades and of marble white color and in crown store we have spear which looks completely the same as another 50 staves which can be bought for 50-5000 gold at any guild store.

To be fair, the Spear of Bitter Mercy is, well, a spear and we don't have spears at all in ESO. Closest we've gotten were Blade looking Staves.

Just be grateful they didn't do what Skyrim did with Riekling Spears and made it an Arrow.

Well, I simply won't buy it since I don't feel any nostalgia looking at ESO's version. And that was such a signature weapon in TES3, so I don't understand what's the point to turn it to something so plain if you'll look at it from 5m distance.

If ZOS is going to put Spear of Bitter Mercy in the game, then they need to put "SPEARS" in the game.

It's a bundle of three items. And like I said in the other thread, lore doesn't really have to apply to replicas.

Kind of like how my steel replica of Sting will never, ever glow.

Yes, there is also small red flag with Hircine trademark, which I guess is must have for any collectioner no matter how "spear" looks.
But I don't understand ZOS's logic. I mean - you wanna make money on morrowinder's [removed], you create good-looking but similar to original stuff, sell, count money. Instead of that... plain brown staff with high-res textures.

I would also point out that this artifact skin does not reach/touch the ground like actual resto staves do on characters. it hovers slightly above the ground, so it isn't resting.

Ugh, so those spears are different even within ESO ><

But we already had this issue with Meridia - original statue has rather severe face expression and some kind of cloak or "daedric" wings, while ESO's Meridia is simply beautiful woman with feathered "angelic" wings..
But in this case they didn't "improved" original spear but simplified it. It's obviously mix of spear from Hircine's statue and Morrowind's Spear.

eh so far these artifacts don't convince me...do like some of the arm packs...just wish they would be all made availalbe in the store since i mist a few that i wish i'd bought in hindsight

It is rather disappointing compared to some of the other items we’ve gotten (Chrysamere and Spellbreaker being my favourites). Especially since it’s classed as a destruction staff for some reason.

Chrysamere and Spellbreaker worked well because we have two handed swords, and shields already in the game, so they are visually functional. The Spear of Butter mercy just looks wrong functioning as a staff.

Eh, you can't have ACTUAL daedric artifacts, otherwise they would be OP and peopel had no other choice but to use them.

I love the skin. Bitter Mercy was my favourite artifact in Morrowind. I love to see them giving a nod to the now long-lost spear weapons. So a staff was the best choice.

Maybe I'd liked it a little bit longer and shinier though. But eh I was pleasantly surprised already.

Staff makes way more sense then 2-handed. It was a magical "cast on use" item in Morrowind, and swinging around a spear like an axe is just friggin' dumb.

I have the feeling people asking for this aren't thinking it through, and in an alternate universe where they did make it 2H they would have the exact same complaint but in reverse.
