How do you want to see group finder improved?

For me I hope they fix alliance war ones. Add new alchemy ingredient reward from randoms and new 3 pieces gear

I kinda think would be nice to have questing in activity finder in case they make overland harder for people.

Group finder would be greatly improved if it actually worked at all.

Even a full group sometimes gets "someone declined" for no reason at all. You can wait over half an hour, easy, if you're a damage dealer. And more often than not, you can't even queue without spamming the button...

    This is what I’d like

1 for a premade 4 player group there should be no role criteria (that should be down to the group) and dungeon should pop very quickly

2 for all players there should be the option to NOT do DLC random dungeons

3 for all non-4 player groups there should be role criteria as currently. Queues should pop quickly

4 any error messages should reflect the actual reason for failure rather than inaccurately blaming other players

5 for Battlegrounds you should be able to choose both which type of match AND which map you want to play.

6 for Battlegrounds there should be some way for players to leave matches that are incorrectly formed without incurring a penalty

7 for Battlegrounds there should be some way to separate ‘serious’ premades from both poor premades and totally random groups.

    Here’s hoping

I'd like to see it working properly. I'd like to be able to leave a failed BG match after 10 minutes (or longer) of waiting for a team to fill without incurring a 20 minute penalty.

If we can't do that, change the messages from "unable to queue at this time" and "someone declined...." to random messages like, "hamsters are out for lunch at this time" or "welcome to the DMV, please take a number."

I want a group finder that lets me go into dungeons with 3 other fighters. Not boring healer tank dps roles. I'd like more content designed for that as well. For things that absolutely need a tank or a healer, I'd like the option to queue for a tank + 3 dps group or a healer +3 dps group. Fake tanks can stop fake tanking and the queue for dps would be usable instead of something to avoid at all costs.

For a end game dps that doesn't want to wait for 30 minutes, there currently is no group finder. (at least when I play) For the easier dungeons it's faster to solo vet than wait in the queue. For nearly all normal, it's faster to solo than wait for a group. That's a trash can of a DF and the role requirement is the bottleneck causing the problem.

If they make overlands mobs harder then farming for mats will be a nightmare as it will slow us down.
Quest group finder? No thank you. I need to queue for dungeons queue for trials ..not another queue no. Questing should be stress free and enjoyed at one's leisure as some players like to listen to the stories and others just want to rush through. It wouldn't be fair on the lore community or the solo players or the players that don't like to be in groups cause they find it stressful.

The reality is that there are different level difficulty dungeons all piled into one option.
Some vet dungeons are easy like fungal grotto 1 and 2 , easier than a normal dlc.

The pledges seem to be what is causing this whole dungeons issue about low dps etc because so many experienced players just want to rush through and get their keys. This does not help newbie players in any. This means many newr players are not able to finish dungeon quests or learn mechanics properly because of the rush. Then they are either abused or kicked from groups because of their lack of experience.

I said this before but I'll say it again. It's as if eso is split into 2 groups. The vets players and the normals players and the gap is BIG. Because some players have been doing trials and vet dungeons for 5 years now, they forget what it was like startting out...needing to learn lots of new dungeons to get keys for their monster sets. I hope zos can domsomething here to improve this situation with players complaining about dps being too low.

All I can think of is to split dungeons into more coherant groups of difficulty levels. The problem is rhat if a max cp player's dps is not 30k + but is too h8gh for the lower dps needed in normals then the newbies will complain that they dont want to play with max cp players that kill mobs and bosses too fast cause then it's too boring for them that are lower level...so yea it's not easy to please everyone or cater to everyone's needs.

I say keep the dlcs separate to normal dungeons. That will at least be a good start imo.
But keep in mind that newbies or even vets that never stepped into a dlc will need to eventually learn them so not sure how it's meant to work. Here lies my dilema.

How does displaying the dps work exactly? Do you mean like a dps meter? Im curious and interested to know what you meant by your comment. If you could explain further it would be helpful thanks 😊

just make it work without all glitches it has now

i know that "someone has declined blabla" is a que bug

but it makes me paranoid even in full premade =D

as i said - if it gonna work without all bugs we have

it gonna be a big improvement

Is this insider knowledge? If it's true, I'm out. It already takes too long to clear out the trash in some of those "liberate the city" quests even with 300+ CP allocated. I sure as heck don't want to be forced into grouping to kill random overland mobs. Barf.

I'd like to see queues for premade and solo in battlegrounds.
Maybe have the premade queues yield higher AP rewards at match completion to encourage premades to to join.

    Seems like a win-win.
Premades get higher AP rewarded, and solo players can actually have a chance to win, without being pug stomped.

Even without higher yielding rewards, they really need to look into separating the queues.

By all means, play with your friends. It should just be against other groups of friends.

First it needs to actually work. Then we can look at other opportunities like maybe make it so that it somehow tries to group you with other players that are kind of on the same skill level? Like if you're one of those spam light attacks from bow and use max 1 skill per 30 seconds, then maybe put you with likeminded players? Especially for veteran. This would make the veteran version of the group finder somewhat viable, at least if you don't have friends or guildmates to bring with you.

Obviously just working would be great but after that:
    1. Grouping for achievement hunting (should need at least a prior vet clear)
    2. Grouping for pledges specifically - maybe an additional key or transmute for doing pledges this way
    3. Better rewards for random vet dungeons

I remember discussing this a year or so ago and I think there could be more level options for people to choose from.

I know it might make it harder for newer players to find a group but possibly have a 'pledge queue' (or 'farm queue' option) option for people who want to race in kill everything fast and get out. If someone chooses that queue and is doing the quest, it's their fault if people don't wait for them or leave before they hand the quest in.

Like others have said, get it to work reliably first.

Would mainly just be happy with one that works as intended.

After that up the XP rewards for Vet dungeons, feels stupid to get the same XP bonus as a normal dungeon.

Maybe a filter option that lets you exclude a handful of dungeons that you hate from the random queue.

I've been playing for 4 years, and for 4 years it has been useless.

But hey, since the question is "improvement"... I'd like it if it would let partial groups queue and start dungeons anyway. I mostly play duo with my wife, and I'd love to be able to do random dungeons as just a team of two and not having the need to find 2 others. I mean, we can still play any dungeons by just actually going there, but it's not a random dungeon.

    Yes dps meter.

Based on what, then ? Your last dummy score ? You last actual score in a real fight ? Your average over time ? Your median ? How would that be of any use if you recently switched to another set of gear and / or build ? How is that relevant for a healer or a tank ? How is that relevant AT ALL, actually, since DPS varies greatly from encounter to encounter, depending on your gear and build, buyt alo team compositio nand their gear and build. Not to mention how you master what you're doing, how many time you're going to waste stamina on breaking free, scripted mechanics that may r may not allow certain actions, and whatnot.

Geez, y'all need to stop being single minded and only care about DPS. I've never scored over 16k DPS on a good day on a dummy, which basically rules me out of pretty much any "serious" team, but barring mechanics that make a boss hold unbreakable, there are very little situations I cannot get myself out of, very few world bosses I can't solo, on a stamina nightblade. My support magblade deals roughly 8k DPS oon a good day, but she does so on every single enemy around, be it 1 or 10. And everything she does heals her and the surrounding allies. I have characters that go over 20k, and as I understand it it's still pretty bad, but in a real fight they're squishier and probably wouldn't cut it in "serious" content. I have a tougher than rock tank, a nord that I had to respec OUT of his CP resists since Murkmire, because that brought him way over the cap with the racial changes, and he tops that with several damage shields. He's pretty much unkillable, can hold aggro very well even on rather large group of trash + boss, has some self heal and utility (stuns trash for over 10 seconds, courtesy of him being a sorcerer), but his DPS is abysmal. My wife's tank is weaker than mine, and she's not taking much damage against a dragon, so I guess I could solo one with mine, it would just take a while. But hey, I suppose I should crank up his DPS. I mean, what good is a tank if they can't kill enemies by looking sideways at them, right ?

This narrow minded focus on DPS is the same reason people say magicka necromancer is "bad". It can stack both minor and major protection ll by himself, top it with more damage reduction with the summoned ghost, heal with both bursts and HoT, spam a PBAoE that also heals him even on a stam build, can spam a ranged attack... Basically, it's one of the most versatile characters to date, and one of the hardest to kill even in full light armor. But hey, look, it can't score a zillion DPS OMG it's so bad...

I just read a forum post where someone said they are not slotting buffs because random dd's are not worth it anyway. This have no inpact on bad players, but making players who actually try to give some dmg, not to queue for it.
I use group tool a lot. I can ask friends or guilds but I don't wanna bother and just group tool. I did meet some nice players there and via group tool we actually managed stuff like no death and speed run in one of the newest dlc dungeons for example. It's doable for sure. But it's not fun to queue when u want some motifs at the end or something and there is this first time tank there low cp who refuse to communicate and dies on every single mob attack. That's simply a waste of time for the whole group, no offence just realistic speaking.

So to sum up, I think group tool could be more specific what you want from the dungeon and what you can bring to the group as a player. This way, for example 4 players who havent completed a dungeon yet can learn it together, which is the way I did every single dungeon in this game as is by far one of the most fun experience memories I have.
Since also I read complains about people thinking dungeons are too easy, this would also solve this. wtg too easy I agree, but put 4 man first time there low cp, no gear together there and believe me they will struggle.
