I must admit, i have a Problem with much the last years new Content for ESO. I think it started with Summersend when Zenimax reduced the number of new mechanics in Trials and instead reused old ones with exactly the same animations and so on in their Trials. Sure, there are some new mechanics too but it just feels like they decided to simply reuse this assets because it is cheaper. I am mostly Talking About Trials in this thread but i have also noticed this in some other Areas like Dungeons and the open world especialy in Elsweyer too.But i think the Trials are the Place where it is the largest Problem.


For example you can take CR. First they introduced the Design that all sidebosses have basicly the same Skillset. We had 3 times the same boss with the same basemechanics and only the humanoid Boss changed a bit. And even this Change is atleast in some parts stolen from other older Trials(vHoF in this case). The Lightning-boss feels like a copy of the 2nd Boss with the same mechanics that you have to bash and so on and the fire-boss is a copy of the reducer(4th Boss). Yes there are also the mechanics for the final bossfight but this is only one mechanic per fight and it feels more like when they split the Hardmode so there is any difference between the bosses.

So, now we have Sunspire and again it feels like a large copy of Things we know already. We have the twohanden Adds which are only a reduced version of the Warrior in Hel RaI, we have again 3 bosses with the same basemechanics and only some Variation in some Areas. We have the lightningatros which come directly from vAA Hardmode, we have the firecircle from CR anf we have the Manticoramechanik where we send 3 People into onelarge(or in this case 3 small) holes to fight one add on a seperate map and when they fail we are in Trouble.

There are also some examples in Dungeons even if i have to say that some of the mechanics like the ones at the final Boss in Frostvault are Pretty good. But I hope that they decide to build also in Trials again more mechanics like for example the Colours at the Twinns in MoL or the first Boss in HoF.

What do you think is this a Thing that they should Change or is it ok to use old mechanics which ere good at one Point and bring them into new Content again?

    Your right. It's really across the whole game. It has not emerged at all . They are mass producing the same thing with different skins every chapter. The necro is just a mish mash of other classes with different animations.
