Free character space with expansion?

They said they were giving everyone 1 extra space for the new necromancer class but this morning I went to make one and it still says I am 8/8. Is this happening to anyone else? Or did I hear wrong on the extra space?

✭Same thing happened to me. Don't fret. Log in. You already did that. Log out and restart. You should see your free slot. That is, I am ASSUMING you have bought Elswyer. If you didn't buy or pre order it, you don't get it then.Not my quote but I love this saying

✭✭✭You have to have purchased Elsweyr to get the free slot, a point Rich didn't mention when he said they'd be giving "everyone" a free slot back during the first Elsweyr livestream.

✭✭Just to clarify, it is absolutely not true that you have to preorder to get the slot. You don’t even have to have Elsweyr at all to get the slot. Everyone gets it.
It IS true that after the update, you have to log into an existing character. This automatically unlocks the slot. Then, when you return to the character alert screen, you will see it.0 -
