Dungeon 2

So, playing maybe two weeks on a lvl 43 sporting a mish mash of greens and blues. I queue for a random cause XP is good and get thrown in a dungeon level 2. How in the world does my toon qualify for level 2 dungeons?? WoW has a gear score qualification for heroics and with good reason. ESO doesn't even wait for you to hit 50 before tossing you into level 2. Yes, i realize many are alts with CP's so howabout using CP's as the qualifier?
Howabout something....anything but putting players into content they nor their toon is prepared for.

That's not what that means. Version 1 and version 2 are just that, two segments of the storyline for that dungeon. These are not difficulty levels.

Normal and Veteran are the difficulty levels.

;) 2 dungeons in ESO is not the same as in WOW.
Back at launch 1 dungeons was normal and 2 was veteran. Think the non numbered dungeons like vault of madness had both veteran and normal levels.
This was changed later so 2 dungeons is an step up from 1 and non numbered in mechanics and difficulty and veteran is simply harder than normal. Enemies hit harder and has more health and mechanics do more damage some are one shots.

DLC dungeons is next level and opens up at level 45 in normal, vet are probably WOW heroics dungeons, vet dlc is the hardest and don't get into randoms until cp300.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

Most dungeon 2 are longer and more difficult than their dungeon 1 counterparts

Crypt of hearts 2, city of ash 2, banished cells 2 are longer and harder

You haven't seen hard till you try a dlc dungeon, and I'm not talking about white gold tower or imperial city prison either

Don't care what anyone says, 2's are significantly harder than 1's and involve mechanics that matter and you will have to know unless you'[re highly geared and/or experienced at ESO dungeons.

So why did you start this discussion?

Yes, it's a bit more difficult (and just a little)

But frankly, you can evolve multiple levels into dungeons before you can get into a dungeon II. For me, and for most of the players I know, that was enough to understand how they worked.

I never had a hard time finishing a Dungeon II without being DLC, and without being a veteran. So frankly, increasing the difficulty after 35 levels of evolution is what I expect from a game.

First the game buffs your HP, mag and stam up. 2nd, when you run dungeons you can try to get some crafted gear. Just in white or green. Fortified Brass for example scales all up to the 50/160 stats. I dont know your class/build, but with 5 brass and 5 julianos/hundings you should be ok till 50.

WoW has linear character progression, whereas ESO has level scaling from level 1 to 49 (you will notice a huge drop of power and die a lot once you hit lvl 50. Statwise, a level 43 char is effectively as good as a lvl 50 CP 160 char. He might not be maxed out due to a few missing passives or high end gear, but that's about it.
That being said, at lvl 43, you should be MORE than prepared for content that's a little tougher. If the game wouldn't start raising the bar at some point, there would not be a challenge at all. Level 2 dungeons tend to be a bit more mechanic heavy but on normal, you can just ingore those mechanics for the most part.
And finally, there is a CP filter for the tough(er) dungeons.
And if the dam breaks open many years too soon
And if there is no room upon the hill
And if your head explodes with dark forebodings too
I'll see you on the dark side of the moon

This post reeks of another WOW refugee complaining about something they haven’t really researched. The 1 dungeons and the 2 dungeons are completely different dungeons, albeit set in the same location. Not the exact same dungeon with different difficulties.

How do you qualify for a 2 dungeon?

You qualify because your character is a certain level. Every now and then as you level a new dungeon is unlocked. At level 45 you will unlock the DLC dungeons and at level 50, the vet versions of all the dungeons.

That’s how it works. It’s that simple.

So, if your character is L50 you can be thrown into any dungeon regardless of your previous (lack of) experience.

Most of the time that has happened to me I have lucked out with a group of people who’ve helped me get through it. Which was super cool.

There is a jump in difficulty between Dungeon I and Dungeon II. I would rate the difficulty like this when it comes to ESO dungeons, with the first place being the easiest.

    1. Dungeon I
    2. Dungeon II
    3. Dungeon I Veteran
    4. DLC
    5. Dungeon II Veteran
    6. DLC Veteran

Back before 1T, that was probably true. This is no longer the case.
