Fastest way to level?

Thats_So_Wizard
I’m levelling a character and I would like to know a fast and efficient way to level.
I’m Cp 465 so I have already crafted some training gear

    Dude,

Just play the game you enjoy. There’s absolutely no need to rush.

That said, eating scrolls, doing daily random dungeons and BGs and crafting writs will give you lots of XP.

But enjoyment trumps XP everyday in my book.

    Have fun

Skyreach or spellscar can be really good levelling.

Dolmen farming is decent exp but is easier then the first two options.

Skyreach is prolly the most reliable fast exp, spellscar can become very overpopulated.

I never really try grinding, I feel that questing is fast enough for me, plus sometime I can earn skill point.

Do the daily random dungeon and battleground when you are enlightened, put on an xp scroll too. Then grind spellscar or dolmens until your head starts to spin.

I don't really fast level, but I often do a bg, using an xp scroll in the last minute if my team is likely to finish in the top two, followed by a random normal. I then do about 9 or 10 dolmens. At higher levels you will gain a couple of levels a day.

If I have a chum, then I might do some delves, world bosses or public dungeons.

I try not to do too much of one thing in a day.

I do quest all the way, now I am around CP480, so I don't know how to grind and I'm not good in dungeon.

Honestly I tend to just do the Harborage quests for skill points, a daily random dungeon every now and then, and explore public dungeons. Seems to go faster for me than just grinding, because of the exp you get when turning in dungeons quests.

If you are already CP465, then no reason there to gind levels, you are already able to do anything in the game, including trials. So just play whatever you like and enjoy the game. The only thing at this point I would do for leveling is just to take the daily pledge and battlegrounds on as many characters as I can, to get the 100k bonus for each char.

I see grinding versus questing as a perfectly valid personal choice (regardless of which method one decides to choose) and there's nothing really to "know" with regard to grinding. It's just repeating a certain specific piece of content, ad nauseum.

And in your case, you've figured-out in the course of attaining CP480 that you aren't good in dungeons.
    That's fine, too.

I'm only CP84, and I'm not good at some things, and there's LOTS of stuff I don't know, yet.

But the things you mentioned weren't the focus of my question; it just sounded weird to me for someone who is a long way beyond CP160 to ask how to level.

But I also have a full compliment of 18 characters that I'm leveling, so I've had plenty of opportunity to experience what works and what might not work quite as well as other things.
If someone has focused on one character, then they probably haven't had a chance to experiment with the leveling process.

I think this is one of those moments when I should have kept my big fat mouth shut.
    Sorry.

You guys are harsh. Cut the OP a break.

OP - just google it. People are pretty defensive about their grind spots due to fear of nerfs. If you are enlightened and have an XP scroll there are areas in the game where you can get a CP in 10-15 minutes. Just gotta find a place with rapidly respawning NPCs who give out a ridiculous amount of XP for no reason.

When in doubt just find a public group dungeon and try not to die.

Problem with grinding is skill points. I find doing a zone of just the story quests is good enough xp and you get a skill point per quest. If there is a quest you dont enjoy, skip to another zone.

Kill mobs in Skyreach. You can do that solo with the cp you have. Maybe not an official Skyreach run but you can kill mobs in smaller portions. Great cap especially while enlightened.

You do not need to grind anything and CP480 not feeling comfortable in dungeon, even normal difficulty non DLC, then you need to ask guildmates to help you

The fastest method (by a considerable margin):
    • Get a full set of gear (including weapons) with the Training trait and upgrade it to purple.
    • Use XP potion/scroll (and event XP if available).
    • Find a place with lots of packs of mobs of 3 or more where you can kill one group and move to the next and make a circuit with very little to no downtime. Ideally the mobs should have minimal/no ranged adds (so they all stay in AOE).
    • Drop AOE's from back bar, switch to front bar with spammable and a ton of abilities you want to level, and kill while on that bar.

Grinding this way you can go from 1-50 in a few hours easily, and grind CP at optimal rates.

Make 8 characters to cp level.
Now you have 8x characters to do,
    Random normal dungeon and bg.
    Yes, thats 2x 100k xp, x8 characters.
    200k xp x 8 xharacters = 1.6million xp in 1 day.

And pledges too. 3 pledges x 8 characters.

Earlier today I completed 29 master writs and handed them in in one shot. Had a 50% xp boost running and ended up with over 1.3 million xp rewarded. Do this during an event and you can stack another 100% boost and you'll be jumping like 5-6 levels at a time.

Heck, if you have the tempers, just make your training gear gold. Even with boosts, you'll be using it for a while.

Is this for a single character? What class? Magicka or stamina?

    Step 1 - Make a Magicka Nightblade
Step 2 - Equip all gold training gear (best gear would be False God's on the body, Balorgh's monster set and Mechanical Acuity weapons + jewellery) and 150% xp pots.
Step 3 - Destro Ult on your back bar, Soul Harvest ult on your front bar. Also you need Twisting Path, Blockade, Force Pulse and Sap Essence on your front bar.
Step 4 - Run skyreach. Since you have 2-3 pulls you should be able get the Acuity proc each time fairly easily. Drop destro ult, use force pulse to proc acuity, drop other dots and then spam sap essence. With false god's and the destro passive you'll have unlimited magicka to spam sap essence which in turn keeps you alive. Sap essence also gives you major sorcerery and inner light will give you major prophecy leaving you the ability to run tri-stat pots for quick stam regen. Soul harvest plus the fighter's guild passive will mean you get ulti extremely fast. Acuity + balorgh's will provide you with a massive burst of dps.
    Step 5 - Profit.

Obviously you need a lot to get this going but if you reallly want to grind to 810 CP in the most efficient manner then this is how you do it. I doubt any class gets close to the efficiency of a magblade in this regard, the soul harvest ulti provides too much ulti regen to be outdone.

Spellscar is also a possible location but its only better than skyreach when you get to grind it with at most 2 other people. It also opens up possibilities with the ring of mara where if you have another account logged in then you could feasibly have them sneak somewhere nearby while your character gains an additional 20% xp (10% for grouping, 10% from the ring of mara). That's fairly extreme mind you since you'd need another PC and another ESO account to get it to work.

Make sure that you have 3 items being researched in every craft line at all times.
Once you have the research skills achieved for everything, you'll free up those points (12 i think).

You can't progress without being able to make or improve specialist gear.
Unless you spend time trading to make money and paying for what you need instead.

    War is expensive.

fastest way to level all needed skillines is join fighters guild join mages guild and undaunted and psijics then grab a bit of xp until level 10; go to cyrodiil for at least rapid maneuvres and then do all available group dungeons once fo skillpoint and for leveling undaunted and do all public dungeon group events. If you have to wait in queue for a dungeon do so in forgotten crypt so your fighters guild will level fast. There are faster ways to get xp but then you have to get the skillpoints and do the undaunted leveling anyways and its much more fun to do dungeons than it is to run around in Skyreach

Do master writs, I'm sick of gaining CPs from master writs, I think I gained more than 350 just doing master writs, I never cared to look how much exp they give (I'm at cap and any cp I get is useless) but sure as hell when I have some to do, I'm going to get cp. They should take a look if that thing is broken or what.
