Whats your favorite race and why?

Just out of curiosity, whats your favorite race in the game?

Mines the Argonians, because of their increased swim speed. Whenever I play another race, I hate it when a body of water blocks my way, but as an Argonian, I actually like to go for a little swim^^

Depends, to play in the single player game? Probably Nord or Breton

Fluff wise? Probably also Dunmer and Khajit...but in the single player game i prefer playing a human - and an outsider to the region where the game is at which seems to make often more sense in TES games

Most people grow up with cats and dogs, I grew up with birds and reptiles. I fell in love with the race back when I played Morrowind in the early 2000's. I'm really digging the Aztec/Mayan theme on ESO as my family has Mayan roots.

Imperials; good-looking and interesting race of men in my opinion. Gameplay-wise, they make excellent and well-balanced PvE tanks and PvP stamina builds.

It was Bosmer, In the ES games I always played a stealthy bosmer archer.

But that changed in ESO. They really gutted them. A non stealthy bosmer is not really a bosmer any more.

Because then my main from ESO can be still alive in 3E 427 and say hello to Divayth Fir while stealing Savior's Hide from him to use Boots of Blinding speed without actual blinding.

they don't like to go to war but when they do its amazing (see "the five year war" battle cats yo)

Before Morrowind I'd only played 1 other game with cat people and lizard people so I was immediately drawn to the khajiit and argonians, and they're still my favourites to this day. Of the two I prefer the khajiit because their culture and attitude appeals to me more (although I loved the insights we got into the argonians with Murkmire).

I actually agree with argonians and murkmire. I know a few people that actually had a change of opinion on argonains because of murkmire, its nice when a DLC or some insight can do that.

I like argonians because its the closest I can get to a Native American (Indian) style culture (feather not dot)

it's a close tie for dunmer, but both are because of the amazing lore and history and culture. Also the accents and personality quirks are 10/10. As far as in game actual performance, I always have gone breton for magicka characters dating back to morrowind, and khajiit for just about everything else.

Sprint speed is such a great quality of life improvement. I'd probably play orc now on all my stamina characters even if they didn't also get a nice increase in health and weapon damage (its a lie, I'd probably race change to meta race again, but I do love the sprint speed).

The only down side is appearance. I don't mind my characters being bulky and green, its the tusks. Not the tusks directly, those are fine, but how the tusks change the mouths. Every orc's lower lip juts out, their mouths are always open catching flies.

I'm fascinated by a sentient species other than Human or Elven. Make that Species a feline anthromorph and you've hooked me for life. I'm drawn into wanting to know about their lives, their society, their people, their civilization, politics, how soft and warm it'd be to snuggle on a rainy day.

Even in the lore the Khajiit were the first developed civilization on Tamriel before the arrival of the Aldmeri Elves. They had invented writing long before the first tribes of Men stopped chucking rocks at each other.

Love the lore around them and the different furstocks, always wondered how their society might look like day-to-day.

Their homeland sounds pretty fascinating too, rocky canyons and badlands in the north, tropical jungle in the south.

Ironically their cat-like appearance put me off from wanting to play as one when I first started playing Elder Scrolls, or maybe it was just because Khajiit looked they had deformed camel heads in Oblivion lol. It was only when I first started playing the AD storyline in ESO back at release where I found that I quite liked the race, their culture, mannerisms and history, and the cat-like appearance grew on me too, so much so now that playing non-beast races is difficult for me, because I like looking like something completely different from humans now.
