Magicka vs Stamina in Elsweyr build

I’m getting frustrated with Stamina/Melee and I’m not a fan of the Bow skills.
Having fun with a Magicka DK but not at 50 yet. Haven’t tried Necro Stam or Mag yet.
Ultimately, I’m trying to hone in on a main and I can’t decide. I know fun is subjective but my aim is to have fun. Part of having fun is being effective without having to do backflips.
It seems like Mag has an easier time than Stam from my own personal perspective. I get that everyone’s mileage may vary.
So with that being said:
Which do you think is more fun overall AND which do you think is more effective gameplay wise? And why?
