Orcrest Cannibal Boss Stuck in Combat

Was running thru Orcrest w/a friend and we got stuck in combat w/Cannibal boss. We tried to run out of the area, but the boss and his adds respawned and kept following us, no matter how far we went, and then would retreat when we hit them, and then come back again, and again. We couldn't port out because we were 'in combat' and had to run back to the entrance w/these mobs on us the entire time.
