How does mount speed work?
When making a new character and you're forced to suffer through 1% speed it feels like you're playing a brand new character in TES3:Morrowind. Then a mere 10% or 20% boost makes you feel more than twice as fast. But it's only a 10% or 20% boost...
Max out that riding skill for a 60% boost and you're zooming around like crazy. Making the 60% mount speed from WoW seem like a snail. With the riding skill boost you can push to 100% and it feels like you're hacking the game with boots of blinding speed on skooma but if it's only a 100% boost to your basic run speed then how is it so much faster than being on foot? Especially when other games like WoW need you to have a 410% speed to get anything close to a similar effect.
It's not like the default run speed (aka not sprinting) is any faster than the other games either. So what's going on behind the scenes in the code to make minor buffs so impactful?
