Everyone has a different opinion on what makes ESO an enjoyable experience. For some it's the graphics, an RPG-rich environment and for others it's wanting a challenging combat experience. I know a lot of comments and complaints come from what we enjoy and want to see an improvement on, which can start debates depending on how we feel about that particular element of the game.

So, I want to understand and learn more about what people enjoy from their MMOs. Socialising? Gameplay? A good story? Challenging combat mechanics? Ideally, I think we all would rather it be a balance of everything but some of us prefer that *one thing* more than the others.

I like the combat especially the knightblade and the graphics. Been playing since beta and still enjoy it, I think it's only became a much better game through the years.

For me it is game community and it's solid values. I like that everyone knows what is he doing and for what and when you know what you are doing, background world becomes alive and you feel that you are really in Tamriel, sort of. Not that Tamriel we have in single-player games, another version of it, but still solid.

So many stories, so much lore, so many interesting quests and NPCs to get to know. So many Tamrielic cultures to immerse yourself in. The music is lovely, there are so many beautiful and interesting lands to explore...

I enjoy an open-world medieval fantasy game with good combat, exploration, graphics, music, and that is both single player and massive in scale. I don't believe such a game currently exists. Oblivion and Sk;yrim are not massive. ESO is not single player. ESO has been suiting my purpose, however, for the last 2-3 years; the fact that it is multiplayer is a drawback I live with. For now.

For me it's exploration. I guess you can add in graphics as well since exploring with good/great/excellent graphics just makes exploring even more enjoyable.

Going into Wrathgar (spelling?) for the first time was just mind blowing for me. It was like WOOOOOOEEE. It was freaking awesome. After that, you get use to the graphics but still fun exploring and seeing different climates.

Without the exploring, my enjoyment of ESO would be a lot less.

    Nothing at the moment.

Sorry, but over the course of the last few months, it's gone from being an enjoyable game, to being a total disaster, in pretty much every way.

Graphically, design-wise, functionality, in-game finances etc..

All aspects have gone dramatically downhill, due (I assume) to multiple bad decisions.

Obviously, this is just my opinion.

Adding that last bit, in case anyone feels the need to point it out...

Don't even feel Elsweyr is, to be honest.

Overly ornate, overly intense and/or clashing hues and patterns, almost nothing matches/compliments anything else and just in case that wasn't enough, there are some worryingly low res assets and furnishings, everywhere you look, even on max graphic settings.

If you can't do ornate, without lowering definition and making things very blurry, you shouldn't do it at all.

    It's depressing.

the constant consistently good dlc/chapters, the music, the community (at least, after wow classic launches), the combat, end game content like raids and dungeons, dungeons at all, quests, collecting things, decorating character / house, grinding some skills/areas... so basically everything minus pvp. that's not an eso thing though i just have bad experiences with pvp in literally every game that has pvp.

I like the combat & class system and also the way the world can feel immersive with the graphics, lore, and voice acting. I wish the immersion could be pushed farther, but compared to other MMOs I guess it's pretty good.

I love the graphics of the world. Very well done for an MMO. It's also the only MMO with RVR PVP like the old Daoc and Warhammer had even though it can get laggy as hell.

I just don’t know any more.

    15934335.jpg

It used to be Tamriel. I used to love it. This company has played fast and loose with a mythology i respected and it makes me sad. It’s like if you were into Star Trek for 25 years and after 5 years a Star Trek game for “diversity” took intellect away from Vulcans, made Klingons into magicians and made a Borg expansion by snipping away from other aspects of the game just to sell it. Because “only roleplayers care about that stuff, pvp needed balance”.

I guess I enjoy watching my dudes kill things at the end of the day. Feels good to burn through monsters and corrupt officials, even if nothing changes, I did my part. I like the quests, like little interactive novellas, those are very enjoyable. Also I like helping people. I’m more of a one and done kind of guildie (here’s free training gear, here’s 100 cornflower for free, here’s some money etc), not a chummy “let’s do everything together” kind. I’m self reliant in this game and becoming rich isn’t something I care about so handing out free stuff to randoms and guildmates is enjoyable.

Woah there tiger... Are you sure you're talking about the ESO community?

To OP: I just enjoy the world and the gameplay. New dungeons are awesome, but so is ganking people in PvP or taking down a fort. I love the faction locks and the tribalism between the three factions with everyone hating on AD and EP being called a zergfest. It's just a great game overall, and the stories are nice too. Heck I even do little side questions every now and then just to hear a new story.

I really love housing tbh, and the housing community. I love that we are able to build our own little worlds, and using add-on's like Essential Housing Tools we can push even farther than the base game would allow. I just love that it brings a layer of personal creativity to the game. :)

The graphics are also beautiful, and I think ZOS has really upped their game with the last few expansions and DLC. I LOVED The Xanmeers in Murkmire, and the ruins in both Summerset and Elsewyr are gorgeous. They make me want to put on my adventuring gear and go full Lara Croft!

And PvP. I was a Dark Age of Camelot player and I love that there are so many elements of that system in AvA. It's got it's issued to be sure, but over all I think it's one of the best PvP experiences I've had in 20+ years.

For me it's the unique experience of solo person game inside multiple person world. There's people even very good people when you want to interact with them, but other times you can just enjoy peace by yourself. It's the perfect balance for me.

It has a highly interactive environment with a lot of variety, graphics are important to me but a lot of pretty scenery can get boring quickly if I can't do anything with it. I enjoy looking in every urn, crate, barrel, etc. and some of my favorite activities are thieves guild, DB, crafting and home decoration.

I don't necessarily want to do the same thing in this game as another MMO but for me crafting and personal housing are across the board so they're probably my "one thing". With other stuff I'll just switch back and forth, playing whichever has the setup I prefer for the activity I feel like doing.

It's the closest thing to an MMO that is enjoyable to play as a videogame... If you ignore anything beyond normal difficulty.
You do that and you can take your mishmash of a character anywhere you desire.
