Guild Finder Text Search

I don't really understand why a feature like text search is missing from the guild finder. I would just like to be able to do some searching when I have the time, write down the names and apply when I see fit. And it's not even like I can find these guilds again using the same parameters since every search looks random (which is understandable, every guild needs a chance, but makes less sense for the lack of text search).

I doubt there is a technical reason to this, so the only explanation I have is that you can't be sure if a given guild blacklisted you (if it doesn't appear when searching the specific name then you know you are blacklisted) and this way reducing toxic behaviour.

Yet I find such a feature would be very useful, let me know what you think.

I totally agree with you. The lack of a text search box in the Guild Finder tool is a real miss.
It would be very helpful to have such a feature. Currently, guilds are listed in random order. It would be much more helpful if players could search for the name of the guild they want to apply to. Or at least be able to list them based on e.g. member count or alphabet (A-Z, Z-A).

If ZOS doesn't implement this any time in the near future, maybe somebody could make an addon for this?

    That's a good suggestion.

I mean, what if you met a player or group that you liked and you wanted to look up their guild afterwards to see if you'd like to join?

From what I understand is that you are only seeing Guilds that have available room for invites, (with a + or - range of 5 or 10?)
They are removed from the listing when the Guild maxes out on members so they may not have blacklisted you.

@AlnilamE The link can help in this siituation, but if you only have the name of the guild and don't remember who to ask for the link, you're indeed screwed.

@Grimm13 I guess you can still see the guild description using the link even if it's maxed out, you just can't apply (not confirmed). If that's the case then it makes even less sense for the lack of text search.

    Yes good idea.
I'm having trouble searching through guilds as I cannot go back to one I liked. I wish there was a way of placing a star or something to mark ones i read that i liked and keep searching then go back...like a bookmark type option. The lists are so long and my memory so short. I usually like to narrow a list down to a few choices but i can't do this atm.

It would be great Zos if we could please have a way of marking some of our choices so we can go back to them and also have a text window for guild name searches . Thank you kindly 😊

I missed this too, what a silly Job done by ZOS. They can not implement anything fully!

Browsing each guild via list is a pain despite of few available filters.

And only likely to get worse as either new guilds pop up or more old guilds continue to get their listings up.

Those filters are completely useless. So much time on them simply wasted. Was it tested before announcing?
I have an impression that the list of available guilds is the same any time I pick one of several filters, and there are so many guilds that are shown in random messy order, why not alphabetically?
I was searching for my missing guilds for less than hour and gave up, could not find my werewolf guild :(.

Would like to add my voice to requests for a text search.

It will make it easier to find a guild you heard about or saw advertised on the zone chat.

Or to find a guild that is based on your cultural identity so you can meet like minded people from your own tribe. This is good for the game too so people can get more of a social investment in the game and play more.

    Cheers
