I hate Transmutation Mark of the item.
I want it to be no mark.

I agree. I don’t see the point of the mark.

    Dirty and forsaken by RNGesus.

The mark will stay as long as transmuted items are not researchable. To be clear I think that restriction is silly, as you can just deconstruct with a decent chance of getting the trait stone back, then craft a new item for research.

I like the transmutation mark. Specially when my entire build is composed of them =P makes it easier too find gear on glance in the inventory xD

I dont like the transmutation mark.
I can not understand why it is necessary.
It looks like a wound, and it is fugly.

I thought it was there to stop transmutation trading

You can’t take a sturdy item transmute it to impenetrable and then sell it in trade or guild stores as it retains a market to make it sturdy again on selling

I like it because it shows that I spent lots of resources for that item. Instead of getting lucky and dropping the right trait, it involves more hard work.

Transmuting an item binds it to your account so there is no "transmutation trading" going on.

Fair enough can’t say I’ve ever transmuted anything I wasn’t going to wear so never noticed it’s state after the process but hey I get the trait I wanted that’s all that matters to me

Maybe the mark is to prevent people from deconning the transmuted item by accident. Theoretically the player put more effort into getting that item to be exactly what they wanted/needed.

In addition to reasons already mentioned, the mark is also there because the base id of the item itself has not changed — I believe you *can* (or at least formerly could) research a transmuted item, but only for its original trait. You can also see this when you search certain add-ons, which will identify the item by its original trait instead of its new one. I know Inventory Insight does this, for example. A charged staff transmuted to nirn will still show up in that add-on as charged. So something about the base id (or whatever the right term) of the item doesn’t change, even while the new trait is applied for combat calculations.
    Nirnhoned, Bloodthirsty, Swift...etc
Drop Items can not get it without Transmutation.

You can: exemplary nirn items drop at the end of the Craglorn questline, and certain trials do drop nirn set weapons, like vMA and vSS.

Bloodthirsty and Swift jewelry drop, but only as exemplary pieces from trial coffers and daily crafting writ coffers, respectively. The one exception that I know of is a swift ring that is a guaranteed quest reward in Northern Elsweyr. But if you mean they don’t drop on set pieces, then you’re correct, and that’s by design. The devs wanted us to research these traits so we could transmute
drop sets and create our own. It’s part of the long grind that is jewelrycrafting.

There isn't even a point to it, like, not researchable? Really? You cant change the trait without u having the trait on the character, so you can literally, change trait, decon for mat, create the needed weapon/armor in that trait, then research.

So it is already "researchable", just with rng.and there is no reason for them not to make transmuted items researchable, since they are literally already 50% researchable (depending on luck).

Just make it 100% researchable and get rid of the ugly mark. Items will take less memory on the server too.

Exactly this. It designates to you why a normally tradable item is not longer tradable.

That's also silly, all crafted and overland becomes bound after equip, just make the same rule for transmute, transmuted? Now bound.

Except that you can transmute a BoE item that has never been equipped.
