Just another day in the Alik'r...

This may seem odd and highly unusual. Like what? Is some special dolmen event going on? o.O Nope, this is very normal for the Alik'r Desert.

Whether you want to lvl to 50 via dolmens, or level a skill line or just farm champion points. People come to the Alik'r! Heroes/Villains from all corners of Tamriel come here. And man it gets **very** crowded sometimes.

This is just another day in the Alik'r. Though how crowded it gets depends on the day, there is usually a big boost in population during weekends.

It's just another day in the Alik'r...

It get's so crowded you can't even see your own character. xD Well at least dolmens go down fast. Usually it takes 2min and then "next!".

I use these tools whenever I need some jewelry for noob Cyrodiil. Throw 1 AoE, loot chest, AFK. Don't bother chasing them, they'll come back.

I never realized the lure of Alikr. The Deshaan dolmens are all close to the shrines as well AND you can farm Mothers Sorrow jewelry on the side.

Yup also a good place to farm jewelry. Go on a max lvl character, do 5 dolmens and you got at least 10 rings/necklaces to deconstruct, research or sell. Rinse and repeat. :p

i did "get the joke", i simply ignored it, because you would not believe the amount of people i know in real life that agree with the whole "kill half of everyone" schtick. and you both missed my reference, he is the "mad titan" afterall.

Sometimes I wish there would be a secret "Molag Bal has had it with this crud" event that can be triggered if a too large group of the same people do too many dolmen in a row...
...where a huge portal opens up in the sky, we get a "molag bal hand" casting a massive fireball that instakills -everyone- at the dolmen... and then adds a "molag bals curse" debuff that makes them incapable of gaining XP or opening chests for 24 hours...
    ...alas. Only in my daydreams!

Alcast just released a video on the fastest way to level using dolmens, probably had something to do with it.
So they raised the floor and lowered the ceiling. Except the ceiling has spikes in it now and the floor is also lava.

Yes, but the Alik'r dolmen run has been a thing for about 4 years, way before Mother's Sorrow became the thing. Before necro got nerfed. I used to try other zones, but players did the 'camping out' thing at most of them.

ZOS added 'Major Gallop' spell to the Alik'r completion phase; not sure if they did that elsewhere in other zones.

Things about this activity that I really enjoy are:
    • Watching players and their pets rushing back to the wayshrines.
    • It's relentless teamwork where everyone just jumps in gets the job done
If only dungeons could be this enjoyable.

I never understood the allure of Dolmen farming for XP. Hell, with a few xp scrolls you can be lvl 50 before you leave your first zone.

Grinding like that just seems so odd to me.
