Need help with faction foul up

My son & I have been playing these type games together for the better part of a quarter century. We live a couple of states away so we enjoy having this time together. We both roll Khajiit necros. Same race, same class, so we should be in the same faction, right? Wrong. We were planning to play together tonight but just found that he has been assigned AD and I am DC. How do we fix this? If I have to reroll my lvl 16 I will lose all of the mount training and XP scrolls and such that I have expended so far. There must be some way to insure that we are together. Ideas?

Nope. No class or faction change exists. Rerolling is literally the only option.
Sounds like you have any race, any alliance bought...just have to be careful. Though, by default, you should automatically be AD if you're both Khajiit. You must have changed without realizing. Only way for your cat to be DC is with any race, any alliance.

u should be able to faction change with a token if u have that "every race every alliance pack" in my opinion. but i see the problematic implementing that. so yeh he rly gotta reroll.

Faction only matters for pvp. It doesn’t matter anywhere else in the entire game.
If it’s really about pvping together then whoever spent less money on their cat has to recreate it.

its actually not matter for all of the pvp content. u can still enjoy bg together

You can't change your faction, but that doesn't mean you have to delete the character. You and your son can create another character and play both. At level 16, you have not invested much time anyway.

You aren't "assigned" a faction - if you don't have the "any race any alliance" account upgrade then you need to pick races in the same alliance to play in the same faction. These are fairly obvious in character creation, but to clarify:

Aldmeri Dominion:
High Elf (Altmer)
Wood Elf (Bosmer)
Khajiit

Daggerfall Covenant:
Breton
Redguard
Orc

Ebonheart Pact:
Dark Elf (Dunmer)
Nord
Argonian

So if you DON'T have "any race any alliance" upgrade, you need to each pick a race in the same alliance.
You can't change alliance after a character is created regardless of any account upgrades.

Oh and I should have said, if you have the any race any alliance upgrade, then you both need to actively select the same alliance during character creation - if you are both khajiit and ended up in different factions, it means you made a mistake during character creation - they aren't randomly assigned, you need to make sure you have the faction you want selected.

Rerolling your character is the only way to fix it.
