Add-On for hiding non-combat pets?

There are so many annoying non-combat pets running and flying around - especially in the cities - I sometimes have the feeling that I am in a zoo...

Does anyone know if there exists an add-on that allows to hide other players' non-combat pets?

I understand that people like having their pets around, but since it does not affect the gameplay in any way (if anything, it decreases the performance), it would be so great to have an option to hide these pets somehow.

Addons solely affect UI elements by design, so no, unfortunately none of them is able to do this. If only, though...

    Agreed... especially after Elsweyr dropped.

Other MMO's have graphical options where you can disable other players pets or literally disable seeing other players, leaving only their name tag/health bar visible. I wish this game had those options.

They do go beyond this as there is an addon, raid notifier, that will put away your pet/assistant when you enter a raid.

But there is not a ability to affect this on other players.

I do wonder, curiosity of sorts. I do not notice pets of other players much and wonder why some people get so bothered by them and fine them annoying.

I don't see anywhere in the description that it does the above. Besides that it's a great UI addon.

I'd argue that it depends on multiple factors: amount, size and particle effects. One random pet in some corner of your screen is fine, at least in terms of screen clutter. Multiple pets are pesky. Multiple large pets are distracting. Multiple large, flaming pets? Oh no.

In addition to this, cosmetic pets usually feel terribly out of place in combat situations. Their presence seems odd. But I realise that this, especially, is completely subjective.

Granted, the most bothersome one is the perpetually flapping Matriarch, a combat pet. I'll give you that.

With the inability to turn off spell effects, the pets are the least of my problems. Normal group I can't see a damn thing half the time and in trial forget about it. Stupid devs thinking it's a good idea to not add a hide pets and hide spell effects function.

It's not nearly as bad as people running around constantly with their bankers out, they have actual collision and can push you around. I was standing at a doorway and some other player's banker ran and pushed me off.

So, then YOU wouldn't turn off seeing other people's pets on YOUR screen.

Why can't I turn off seeing everyone ELSE's pets on MY screen?

The problem with society these days is that no one drinks from the skulls of their enemies anymore.

I do not see how particle effect is an issue due to the size of pets.

Yes, I have noticed pets and especially in the new zone due to the population, but the moment I notice pets are in the area it is out of my mind. Even the matriarch is not a big deal to me. Maybe I am just to focused on the game or whatever my goal is at the time but even when I am just standing there the pets in the area are not a bother.

Regardless of why you seem to not be able to move past them, figuratively speaking, there is no way to hide other peoples pets and I doubt Zos offers a means for you to do this because of how complex it must be to make it happen and other issues. I suggest you find a way to look past the pets since most of us seem to have done that long ago.
