In the main quest this one is asked to rescue Abnur Tharn who is an prisoner in Coldharbor.
FuvuKvSh.jpg
However this one has an quest in Riverhold with him and he is still there.
spHzcLLh.jpg
And I started the talking to him in Vulkhel Guard and got the prologue quest.
kYINUWah.jpg

This one is confused, She is trying to resolve it with alchemy.
DopoBLJh.png
She already killed an dragon, but before starting the prologue.
And how can Tharn be three places at once and still an prisoner?
Will sell her soul for an answer but buyer has to get it elsweyr as she don't have it :)
https://www.deviantart.com/isriana/art/TESO-Keeps-Getting-Worse-445791458

Now this one has to do the wormroot depth doing both the main quest and the elsweyr prologue at once, however she has to wait for it to be an undaunted daily for 4 quest in an delve :)
If this crash the servers Khajitt is sorry but is has to be done.

I recommend zymurgy instead of alchemy for the answers you seek. You won't have the answers either way, but you'll be drunk and won't care.

Remember when you first "met" Tharn at the orb? He said "I don't recognize your face". And yet he sent a personal summons to you specifically in the Prologue.

You are the victim of two dreams, which you have vivid memory of. First, the entire main questline. Now you are well known to Abner, so he summons you. The second dream you keep having visions as if they were real is the Prologue, leading you to this day, when you are wide awake and now have to stop the dragons.

Cut back on the skooma, and you will be fine

Maybe the different Tharns are in alternate universes, like that one Star Trek episode where Spock had a goatee and Sulu dug chicks.

all these shambled timelines are just an artifact of One Tamriel existing. I'm fine with it, though, because if you really care you can play them in order. It's worth the cost if it means we get to go anywhere at any point and do anything with anyone.

Yes, they've pretty much thrown logical lore out the window since the old loremaster left. More like Alice In Tamrielland now.

If I remember correctly, I recall reading that ESO is happening during a Dragon Break. That actually explains the broken timelines in ESO. In short, during a Dragon Break:

Time is broken. "Cause and effect" is broken. Things can happen before their causes. You can meet people for the second time before the first time, and you can meet someone for the first time more than once.

And everyone can be an individual, but there are multiple of every individual all at once one at a time forever once in a while but only after what happened beforehand didn't happen yet.

    ...Dragon Breaks get weird.

Edit: So, this was apparently officially denied. There is no dragonbreak. Shame.

Actually, Rich mentioned in one of the first live streams for Elsweyr that there is no Dragon Break going on during ESO's timeline.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ddulQz7IsTw&t=2636s

Idr what time it is in the stream, but that's the one they mention it in. Coincidentally, this is the same stream where Rich says they're going to give everyone a free character slot, without mentioning that you have to buy the chapter to get it.
    Character List [RP and PvE]:
Stands-Against-Death: Argonian Magplar Healer - Crafter
Krisiel: Redguard Stamsorc DPS - Literally crazy Werewolf, no like legit insane. She nuts
Kiju Veran: Khajiit Stamblade DPS - Ex-Fighters Guild Suthay who likes to punch things, nicknamed Tinykat
Niralae Elsinal: Altmer Stamsorc DPS - Young Altmer with way too much Magicka
Sarah Lacroix: Breton Magsorc DPS - Fledgling Vampire who drinks too much water
Slondor: Nord Tankblade - TESified verson of Slenderman
Marius Vastino: Imperial <insert role here> - Sarah's apathetic sire who likes to monologue
Delthor Rellenar: Dunmer Magknight DPS - Sarah's ex who's a certified psychopath
Lirawyn Calatare: Altmer Magplar Healer - Traveling performer and bard who's 101% vanilla bean
Gondryn Beldeau: Breton Tankplar - Sarah's Mages Guild mentor and certified badass old person
Gwendolyn Jenelle: Breton Magplar Healer - Friendly healer with a coffee addiction
Soliril Larethian- Altmer Magblade DPS - Blind alchemist who uses animals to see and brews plagues in his spare time
Tevril Rallenar: Dunmer Stamcro DPS - Delthor's "special" younger brother who raises small animals as friends
Celeroth Calatare: Bosmer <insert role here> - Shapeshifting Bosmer with enough sass to fill Valenwood

Granted they did an good work with the prologue. Tharn recognize you, he also say you done wormroot depth with him before and also who is the current mane.
So they tough of it, The issue is not so much how players can mess up quests if they try but the new starting quest for each zone.

I would rather updated the coldharbor tutorial and added the current tutorials as an end to the prologue.

I did it today. Took my level 5 necro to Vulkher Guard (spelling?) to get money and buy a lightning staff (don't like fire). Decided might as well sign up for the fighter's and mage's guilds. Ran into Abnur in the mages guild and got the quests to find the mushrooms.

Then, I returned to the area to continue questing, and met Abnur in Riverhold, and got more quests.

Similar when I did the psijic order quests and met Darien for the first time with my level 27 magsorc, and he asked me if he knew me and if we met before. And I hadn't even been in the area where you meet him for the first time. Is that called precognition or something?

Oh well, guess that was just a rumor. Time to stop spreading it around. :/

Shame. It would have been a great way to explain away the lore inconsistencies of the game without retconning, too.

Thanks for clearing that up. :)

Interesting thing, If you do the Prologue before any of the Harborage that relates to him, he does Not say he remembers you. He says he has heard of you. Which then makes the Harborage a bit weird when he forgets who you are.

Ok an update here, I started the Elsewyr prologue and was sent to Redfur trading post.
    I now rescued Tharn.

Downer: The Tharn Speaks will not activate, normally it would activate just outside of the harborage, but nothing happens.
I assume they thought people would try to get both quests at once :)

However get a few good gems:
    mCJQOuUh.jpg
He know I'm an necromancer or at least should know.

    cSzu7lsh.png
    And closing off with this.

If some find another way to mess up this I would be happy to know. Perhaps waiting with the prologue until you started The Tharn Speaks, but I guess that deactivated the prologue.

It's the same for any main NPC when you do the quest out of order, usually they will assume they know you. Its the main problem with starting players in the newest zone rather then making a point to set them on the path to the base game main story.

Can't count the number of times I have seen confused people in zone chat, about what order they are suppose to do things.
