[SOLVED] Applying Patch: Quick Question

Quick question: if I force closing the Launcher when it's status is "Applying Patch" (not downloading okay, but applying patch after downloading), will it start over again or not? Thank you

I did something similar a couple of years ago, and if I remember correctly the launcher stated that the game was broken, inconsistent (or some other term) and wanted to repair the installation. And that was the whole installation, 50+ GBs. When that happens you are happy to live in a country with good infrastructure

This is likely, remember that the launcher is modifying the game files.

It depend a bit on who state it is in, if its just verifying its likely to continue but if its writing its probably ruin the game forcing an reinstall

When downloading the pause function is available. However, iicr, the pause button is greyed out when a section of the patch is installing and I would suggest that is not a great time force close the launcher.

Again, that is iirc. I cannot do it again to make sure.

My launcher did hang yesterday, it had downloaded and upgraded the game but had to upgrade the launcher to and could not do that while the server is down popup was shown for some reason.

I closed the launcher thinking it messed up but it just hang, just icon on task bar.
I killed it and it updated itself. Was a bit nervous there.

Oh my I forget about this post. So I already have the answer:

- If the status is DOWNLOADING, you won't loose your download progress (most of it)
- if the status is APPLYING PATCH, please DO NOT FORCE CLOSE IT, you will loose your progress and it will start from the beginning of current patch applied.

For example, your launcher is currently patching 30GB out of 60GB, if you close the launcher then you'll have to do the Applying Patch thingy from 0/60GB.

Also, sometimes, when downloading or applying patch, if you click on the launcher screen, your launcher will stop working and you'll have to start over again.
