[BUG?] Something odd going on with Sprint

Something really weird is going on with sprinting. Before today's Elsweyr patch, in order to sprint, I had to hold down the sprint key. Either SHIFT on the keyboard, or the right shoulder button on my controller.
Now, it's become tap once to toggle sprint on, tap a second time to toggle sprint off. I'm really confused.
I tried turning off all my addons - no difference in behaviour. And it certainly isn't that my keys are sticky, because I've tried both the keyboard and the gamepad.
It seems that it's caused by having a controller plugged in. Several people who use controllers say it's always been push to toggle sprinting on their controllers, but it never has been for me with my Xbox 360 controller before. I don't mind the change in behaviour, but it's weird.
