I don't own any of the true skins. I personally have seen many I think look really good.

The amberplasm looks really good to me

The Meridian skin is easy to work with, and fits well with the Meridia cultist thing I’ve got going for one of my characters

Plus any skin that hides vampirism gets +1 from me

I use several of them, but then again, I think most skins look great on argonians and terrible on humanoids.

A skin can be less bad than the vampire look. That's the only thing I've used a skin for.

I think argonians look best in most skins. I even like beast skin on an argonian.
Khajiit are second best. Really just dislike beast skin and the BRP skin on 'em.

I think humans/elves/etc look really damn weird in all skins. Don't like any on humanoids.

None of you look good in skins if you want another honest opinion. Ofc that doesnt mean that we try to change your mind. Just answering the topic question

:D Totally agree. I've never seen a skin on any toon in-game that looked good. They're all...um.. terrible.

I tend to use my skins in more subtle ways. Like the Blood Forged to make my crafter/thief/assassin Khajiit have the glowing eyes and dark colored fur.
I think she looks good this way, and others have complimented her before. OwO

I think the Meridian skin can be quite flattering, since it's relatively subtle / easy to hide the very bright parts:

I've been trying to rock Dro-m'Athra skin but that's been a bigger challenge... even though I think the skin itself is well designed, every time I try to design an outfit for it, the colors end up looking so garish.

The only skin i found mildly intriguing has been Dead-Water Scale (Crown Crate skin ofc), but mostly just on Argonians because it has a snake-like pattern on the forehead and a unique sheen to it. Imo, Meridia skins/themes are rated the worst skins in the game, they look like someone shoved a bunch of flashlights beneath the character's skin, exposing the veins.

I like all the skins, but use only 2 skins most of time: Spiderkith and Meridian Purified.

My stamplar is the one who did all collectible achievement runs. She has many faces and - for me - looks good anytime <3 Here she is in her "zombie cheerleader" outfit

    4S0A5On.jpg

She doesn't usually wear dresses, but bright chest looks very nice in "boob window" of this dress :)

    yXjUQqx.jpg

Such skin as Meridian Purified, in my opinion, looks the best when those shiny areas are "outlined" and revealed by interesting choice of clothes. The skin also looks great in the dark:

    EmkvObM.jpg

My magsorc is necromancer at heart, and Spiderkith skin applied perfectly to her outfit and her companions - I didn't change anything specially for this skin:

    sTAJXiB.jpg

Bright red lighting makes her flesh melt and become one with her undead mount:

    b6zVOmO.jpg

Amber Plasm skin looks good on dark characters too :) Shadowfen, guar, amber plasm... This picture would be perfect if my stamplar was argonian

    S3Sp8Rt.jpg

And few days ago I've created argonian whose purpose is to wear that skin - she even has appropriate name:

    7xS0TzX.jpg

I still like Soul shriven skin; I used to wear it alot too, but nowadays I use it only on my stamden. I wish we could dye skull part of the mask, for perfect match:

    aArJNF9.jpg

Dreadhorn Shaman skin has nice idea, but I really don't like the face markings on the cheeks. This skin looks great when skin parts blend into the clothes:

    MZOd5s0.jpg

Fabrication Sheath looks awesome on black khajiit character with black clothes and mask which makes the eyes stand out even more! This screenshot is from PTS, cause on live I won't get this skin:

    nG9O7g0.jpg

No matter what skin I have, I can make it look good for my taste with outfit combination - the only thing which stops me is that every character has only 1 outfit slot and I'm not buying additional outfit slots even for gold.

I am impressed and feel enlightened.

    Skins are awesome!

    11axqvr.jpg

Not all skins are great for all races.

Orcs look fantastic with Marshmist Palescale skin

I love the Dreadhorn Shaman on Argonian (which will be my necro).

Anything beats being a Vampire at any rate. It depends on what look you want your character to go for! I design outfits around the skin like others have posted. The only skin I don't like is Dro'mathra. I feel like you are a bit restricted in what you can do with that one.

If you are a vampire...Arctic Rime is almost a must.
I wanted my Nordsorc to be a vampire for reasons, and the skin lets me wear facial hair/markings/tattoos etc.

Most of the skins look bad even the new one coming out. The decayed zombie is the only good one I've seen and that's only good for certain characters. Everyone posting their characters as proof that skins don't look bad are actually just proving the point further. Skins are ugly, don't @ me.

I think some of the skins are just straight ugly (Dreadhorn, Sanctified Silver, Spiderkith) and are just never going to appeal to me, but others can look good on certain characters if they're designed around them. Some definitely suit specific races better though.

The only one I use is Blood-Forged, and that's on my vampire magdk. Partly for thematic purposes, partly because I hate the stage 4 vamp look on dunmer. And at this point, it'd be weird taking it off.

"Beauty is in the eye of the beholder" a few people have pointed this out and fashion is indeed subjective. That being said, I personally find most of the skins to be either uninteresting or flat out ugly. That hasn't stopped people from making them work though as I sometimes come across that one player wearing armor that compliments the more uglier skins that results in something unique.

Amber plasm and necro are my most favourite, my dro'mathra on my khajiit, spiderkith on my stamsorc. And others on different characters, my main trials/dungeon character who achieves all of this, wears whatever she fancies.

Simply put I adore the skins in the game. Ugly or not, I still use all on them on different characters.

No, they all look rubbish, especially in strong sunlight while doing writs... yeeee gods some of it just makes me cringe...

I used to do a lot of vet dungeons/trials/hm blah blah, but all of it sits unused in the wardrobe... along with my cookie cutter meta tank. In a way they are the same I suppose, a huge effort to go to to earn a disappointment, the tank is every bit as boring and yawn inducing as the skins it earned me

Something that makes vampires look cool at level 4 would be good, I would certainly work for something that makes me look like a skyrim vampire, my character there was stunning but the eso vampire just looks like a druggie, and the frost rime skin looks terrible in sunlight 😕

    Not really into them.

Quite like just looking like my char was made to look, in the first place.

Can imagine, if there was a truly beautiful one (as opposed to badass ones), that I might quite like it; but, even then, would probably grow tired of it pretty quickly.

I think the exception might be the recent Crown Crate lizard skin skin ones which, if I had an Argonian, I might use quite a lot, as they are very good.

I also think, if you are already playing a scaled char, then you are more likely to be happy to switch it to a different kind of scaled skin.

As it's just another kind of different.

As opposed to playing a human/elf where you are probably less likely to want to make yourself look very different, for any length of time.
