I can't wait for the dragons and see what they drop for battling them, I hope they are not just substitute reskins of dark anchors, were they pop, you kill them and then get some crappy ring that has the same stats that other rings have, only a different set name.

From PTS they were exactly like dolmens in theory but the fights were different. For instance, one would fly by and do several passes torching the players and from the flames a bunch of flame atronachs would form, then the dragon would swing back down and land for a brief bit to fight and did a lot of damage. Dragon fights are a lot of fun, i wont lie.

That is what I hoped and hopefully some raid quality loot to go with it. Looking forward to Monday, does anyone know when it goes live on Monday?

If I were to guess I would say 10 AM EDT. Just a guess though.

Yeah I still feel like the health is a little low for the dragons and they could do a little more damage. They should be like a vet level trial boss in my opinion. Right now they are more like a normal trial boss. A little stronger then a world boss but not enough to make it a real challenge.

They're overland raid bosses. They shouldn't be overly difficult like veteran raid bosses. The difficulty is good enough. I feel like they're tougher than the Abyssal Geyser bosses, which were pretty formidable in their own right. Tougher than dolmens/dolmen bosses by a landslide, which I like.

Considering that overland PVE content is designed for ALL players, making dragons vet trial boss-like in terms of difficulty would be a spectacularly bad idea.

Except in overland content u are not restricted to 12 players. If they are a little harder than world bosses then they may as well not exist at all.

Except in Vet Trials you are generally restricted to 12 good to elite players in order to finish the content.

If you can’t summon 12 players for a world boss on Live currently, what’s it going to be like next year? With a vet Trials style dragon and nobody that wants to complete it?

Except in overland content, you're not guaranteed to have more than 1 (you). Sure, busy Dolmens or Geysers have lots of people on them. The rest of the time, they have only a handful, if that many.

Obviously, when the content is new, there'll be plenty of people swarming around jumping on dragons. In 6+ months, when people have moved on.... /shrug

(not everyone can solo, or even duo, a world boss. Especially the DLC ones.)

I don't think we have to worry about having issues doing the dragons for quite some time. They will have events. People will migrate to Elsweyr, Summerset, CWC, Orsinium, Morrowind, etc. to farm things for the events. Even after all these years there are still plenty of people around to do world bosses in Orsinium and Morrowind.

If the game is so underpopulated to the point where its never possible to get enough people to kill a dragon well adjust their difficulty from there. Not the other way around. If you are gonna make them just another world boss with the same dumb rewards and difficulty then they may as well not exist as it poses no threat nor reward and even if there are more than enough people to do them they still wont do them cause it simply wont be interesting.

Besides. If you cant manage to get more than 4-5 people then maybe you shouldnt be able to kill a freaking dragon.

They pose a threat for their intended target audience: casuals.

If you want more challenging dragons you can always play the new trial.

Sure, no one is really doing the majority of world bosses anymore. This is mostly because they pose no difficulty and they give no rewards to be interesting. Make them hard chaotic fights with very good rewards and see how many people gather to kill them. But then again ZOS potato servers wont be able to handle the lag of so many people in the same fight so i guess dragons are already doomed.

I was unaware that "casuals" and "elites" shouldnt be able to share the same content and have fun playing with each other.

I'm pretty sure they just drop overland gear plus some unique ingredients and furniture plans.

Spending more time dying and respawning than actually fighting is no fun at all. They can only have fun together if the content is easy enough for everyone to contribute something.
With vet trial difficulty dragons that would most certainly not be the case.

Absolutely false. Huge chaotic world boss fights is probably the only thing that everyone can agree that is fun. This actually applies to both PVP and PVE. First thing every new player joining a siege fight with trebs catapults and players all over the place sieging a freaking castle thinks is "this is f*cking awesome". Besides you are not gonna duel the dragon you know. Throw 20+ people in the fight, spread all over the place, most likely plenty of tanks taunting the dragon etc. Some die, immediately get rezzed by other people continue to fight and the whole place is generally a mess.

But do you know when the casual will be constantly dead? Trying to kill a moderately difficult dragon with 1-2 other people because there arent enough people interested to kill just another reskinned world boss with crap rewards.

They will be the equivalent of Dolmens -> Fixed locations, fixed fight.

Agree, either that or make them so their level of difficulty increases based on the number of people around

What if they added a rare "Elder Dragon" that spawns that is an elite dragon that is as strong as the Vet Sunspire instead of making all dragons this strong. This way the majorty dragons that spawn are the difficulty they are now then say after 5-6 of these types a rare Elder Dragon spawns with a notice on everyone screen to hunt it down. Then you have to figure out which location it has landed and take a full raid to actually complete it. Could add a new achievement for it as well.

This would satisfy both casual and elite players.

They are a piece of *** at the moment because every dragon that spawns has 50 people battering it. Should be more interesting when it quietens down a bit and there are 2 or 3 players.
