Private Delves?

Sorry I know this has probably been brought up but I'd like to give some feedback regarding delves being a single instance (excluding pvp delves, and public dungeons). I understand dungeons and trials having parties and the like but I've always liked doing delves solo since their small and manageable.

However what I don't enjoy is walking into a delve to see all of the npc's slaughtered and a bunch of high leveled players tearing through everything before I can eve cast a spell. It's honestly super immersion breaking and not fun at all.

I feel it would be nice to have an option to make delves solo for players who enjoy taking their time

I agree. I would love an option at the door of delves for public (as now) or private (solo or just your group). I love delves but hate racing 4 other randoms near the end to hopefully get a light attack on the boss before he dies. I'd actually like to check out the boss, set up for an attack and, you know, use tactics a little bit.

At least on the PC, outside of events, the delves tend to be underpopulated. Maybe consoles are different.

The one big problem I see with that is someone could set up bots in a solo instance and farm the hell out of the delve without any risk of being reported.

I just recently switched to PC EU and spent my first number of hours in game collecting all the overland sky shards, and I can honestly say, every single delve had at least a couple other players in them.

Literally everywhere I go on PC is jam packed with players. I’d love to know the daily numbers of unique players and where they visited...

Don't allow the enemies to respawn until you exit the delve. Problem solved?

Pretty much this outside of the new zones. I would not get your hopes up for a change as it would be a huge undertaking to go back and instance all of them and the game design is pretty open.

My guess is you might find doing normal dungeons solo if you are looking for a little challenge.

I also want to be able to host the game locally, have 0 ping and never have to deal with other players.

More seriously, creating an instance for each player would probably take a huge toll on servers that are already barely capable of handling the current load, namely for group dungeons.

Likely for the same reason why there will not be a single-player offline version of this game. That is what many of us really want, but it's not part of the vision of the game. You can still play this game (mostly) as a single-player RPG experience. It is a lot of fun that way. There will be occasional interruptions, but you learn to ignore it and tune it out. Or you find ways to integrate it into the story. Our characters are on the only adventurers in Tamriel, after all. It always seemed weird in single-player Elder Scrolls games that it felt like we were the only person in the world bothering to explore all these places...

Nonsense. If you want immersion, it is entirely possible to get that in a multiplayer game. Especially when the lion's share of content in ESO in particular caters to a single-player experience.

I don't think delves should automatically be single player, but what if you could chose before going inside? I never really thought much about this until the other day. I was watching a streamer new to the game and he couldn't do anything without an army of players following and killing everything for him. He even asked them to stop and of course most didn't. Now he's saying leveling is easy, delves are easy, world bosses are easy, the game is too easy. Gee, I wonder why. He never got any level of a real challenge right out of the gate.

My thought here isn't just for streamers or new players, it's also for someone who wants a challenge and doesn't like when some high level player comes along to "help". Now I know you can't make the whole game like this (it is a MMO afterall), but why not have delves and even public dungeons have a "regular" and "single-play" option when entering?

Instancing just for single player..... no. I say this as someone who gets annoyed when I'm having a relaxed sneak and some two-hander comes charging through.

Instancing as an easy, cheap and fast way for delivering additional story content and maybe even some challenge, then hell yes.

A bit similar to Bog-roll's daily undaunted challenge but on a much larger scale.

All the assets are there, it would be an efficient way to grow content.

This, farming skyshard on alts I tend to just run to skyshard, perhaps drop an heal going on, then drop AoE as are just before it lay down AoE to get enemies out of range to return, burn the rest and pick up then kill boss.
Grinding just make you go in circles.

It's always the same ten twelve snowflakes. For ten dollars or euros, there can't be a server-side hosted game full of private instances. Server load would explode, and the servers too.

Or perhaps let people enjoy the game in different ways? It's not harming your experience in any way if this request was considered. I don't understand why people are even becoming hostile towards requests that don't hinder their experience in any way.

I think it's honestly misplaced frustration, and not so much aimed at the specific request. For each person to have a private delve, that would require separate instances for each and every player, or grouped up team of players in each delve, which would tax the already underperforming servers immensely. All of us are frustrated by the constant lag spikes, random disconnects, and server side sign-on issues that we experience on a daily basis, but we are powerless to do anything (other than quitting, but let's be honest...we're addicted) to change this, and Zos isn't interested in improving the situation. So anyone who makes a suggestion that could potentially exacerbate this issue gets unfairly ganged up on.

I know it's easier said than done, but I wouldn't take it personally. No one is actually mad at you, I promise.

I understand that there is a mechanical aspect to this however I doubt that vague and insulting replies help in others understanding why something isn't feasible. Kindly state the specific server limitations that would result in allowing private delve instances.

Many see content such as instanced housing as evidence that it a reasonable request. If you do not have the specified information on why it's not reasonable please don't promote an argument based on assumptions.

This may be completely impossible, but it would be a dream come true. Between the round 'em up and nuke 'em players and the delve sprinters whose backwash you get stuck in... and the follow-the-leader leeches too-- though they're the least of the problem-- I'd love a little space to kill and explore without interference.

Too bad server performance is hideous.

i agree, delves generally mind numbingly easy it doesnt make any sense to make it a public, public dungeon on the other hand is quite appropriate

Delves IMO should be private, but can be entered in 1 instance with multiple people whithin same group, and increase the difficulty accordingly....the more i read it, its become just a normal dungeon lol
