Can’t taxi to northern Coldharbour?

I used to do this all the time to get skyshards on alts, but tried porting today (after maintenace) to several friends at both wayshrines in the northern section (locked behind quest) of Coldharbour and no dice...

Zos did you change this because of the upcoming zone skyshard crown store availability??

If you haven't unlocked those areas via the main storyline it doesn't let you go to any of those wayshrines even teleporting to a friend. That's been that way for quite some time, I tested it pretty thoroughly at least a year ago. I was pretty disappointed!

How far north are you trying to get?

I was able to teleport to someone at the Endless Stair Wayshrine a few weeks ago. But when I ran off in the wrong direction (in spite of the compass and a mini map!) I wasn't able to get further north than the Endless Stair area, there's a door you can't open without the relevant quest. But I didn't try teleporting to someone further north than that because I only actually wanted access to the section south of that for crafting surveys.

Yeah, anything past the Orchard has always been a bit iffy.

The easiest way around it is have someone go into a delve in northern Coldharbour and you port to them and walk out the door.

I asked a guildmate to help me port there, maybe that will help you.

Or ... you could just complete the questline since it’s needed for other quest completions.

The final fight give some fun DPS readings.

This was on an non optimized healer setup.

Had been insane if they forgot to remove that buff at end on main quest because some minor changes

You cannot travel to someone via wayshrine. They have to be in a delve and then you can travel to them and then leave the delve.

Hmm, i joined a guild event a few weeks ago and we did all the worldbosses in Coldharbour, and the char i did it on hasn't done any quests in that zone yet.

@SantieClaws how did we do this one?

I’ve already done the quest on 6 chars, would rather not do it again on 9 more just for a handful of skyshards

Definitely not true - I’ve been playing since launch and have done this in the past on multiple chars across 3 accounts...

This one truly has no idea at all!

Perhaps none of the world bosses were in the restricted areas?!

Actually, I've been able to get the Orchard wayshrine by porting without doing the quest there. You don't have to unlock that area by doing the main storyline before you can get that wayshrine.

The Taxi has to have unlocked the north area by quest, then others can travel to them. If the Taxi had gotten the northern wayshrines without doing the quest then others can not travel to them.

If the person giving the port has done the quest, you can port.

Done this many, many times.

With over 400 skill points in the game now why bother with 2-3 skyshards in Northern Coldharbour that might yield one (1) skill point?

If you haven't opened the quest line you can port to a friend in one of the delves in northern coldharbour...but game won't port you to a way shrine...

I've had no problem porting to the wayshrine closest to Village of the Lost, and that's really all I need. I think the last time I tried it was during the Jesters Festival. Has something changed more recently?

That one is in the southern region and isn't quest locked at all. Even without porting to friends, you can wander all over southern Coldharbour as soon as you get there. Access to the northern part is locked behind progress in the zone quests, although it can be bypassed.

I still have access to way shrines I unlocked from the Orchard all the way north to Endless Stair. My Quest step is The Army of Meridia.

I have other characters with access to Manor of Revelry, The Orchard and Reaver Citadel, who haven't even progressed through the main questline. Any of those three should be enough to access the last three skyshards, a few surveys and treasure maps. Everything else can be found in the south.
