Pets dying in vDSA

Weren't pets supposed to be immune to damage in group dungeons/trials/arenas? I could barely keep my sorc pets alive last night in vDSA, and there were times I had to resummon them about every 7-10 seconds due to how quickly they were dying.

My pets die in normal dungeons. I did read the patch notes awhile ago, and it did say sorc pets will be immortal in dungeons and trials.

As I replied in the SaltySudd thread about summoning familiars and activating their special abilities:

PC & Mac Patch Notes v4.2.5 are the patch notes for Murkmire Update 20, but they are not named as such in the Patch Notes directory of this forum. They contain the following comment:
Combat pets will now take 0 damage while in a Dungeon, Trial, or Group Arena.
In my experience thus far, apparently it has also applied to combat in Delves, whether the delve is, or may be, an aspect of a Quest which the character is pursuing.

When any of your familiars are killed in combat while in a Dungeon, Trial, or Group Arena, please report it in-game (<F1> or /bug Feedback). Note that attaching a screenshot documents the date and time as well as the location where the event occurred.

They do not count vMA as a trial and so pets will take damage there and might need to be healed if you have the matriarch morph. I guess it might be the same for vDSA.

Although I have not looked at the corresponding Map symbol for either of those instances, if they are not Trials, then they are Dungeons and not Delves. See PC & Mac Patch Notes v4.2.5:
Combat pets will now take 0 damage while in a Dungeon, Trial, or Group Arena.
Familiars ("combat pets") will need to be healed only if the above exemption has not been introduced in the megaserver software as it should have been. Its absence is a bug.

My main character is a warden and my bear dies in pledge dungeons all the time. I quit running him since he got nerfed plus it was a pain in vet fang lair as the second boss resets if you have any pets. That includes combat pets, Betty/bull Netch or even a night blades shade. We’ve submitted a ticket and only get a response and referred to the forum which says that anything that’s not targetable ( things listed above ) will reset the boss if the boss tries to target it. So they still die.

One thing to note. Turn off add-ons for the SS. Zos tends to discredit pretty much any issue and blame add-0ns when present. Yea, I know that it is extremely unlikely that something in an add-on is going to cause your pet to die, but Zos has pretty much passed the buck when they can.

Thank-you for your remarks. I don't quite understand your comment "the second boss resets if you have any pets". Does the Boss re-spawn immediately after being killed when one or more "combat pets" were summoned for the fight?

The only characters which I play that have "combat pets" are both Sorcerers. In my experience so far, their Daedric "familiars" have not been killed in any of the Undaunted pledge Dungeons. I don't recall that either Sorc has been in a Public Dungeon or any of the 4-player Dungeons in Craglorn since the Update 20 change, but I don't expect them to be killed if and when one of the Sorcs fights in one.

Although I have been aware of the Warden's Bear -- how could I not? they are everywhere in the game  -- any other "combat pet" is news to me.
