Stamblade magicka

I’ve given up on hoping Magblade will ever cater to my preferred melee playstyle and thus redesigned my magblade as a stamblade using 5 medium, and I was wondering how much magicka & magicka regen I should aim for (no-CP)? As it stands, I have barely 10k magicka which means 3 cloak attempts and I’m out, quite a difference to the liberal cloaking potential of the magblade.

IMO that's more than enough. Some people run up to Shackle and a mag regen glyph. Often tri-pots are the real flex answer so you get all the resources you need to survive anything other than AOE spam. Which won't happen anymore because AOE damage is decreasing next patch.

Just get used to when you can re-enter stealth as well and you're golden

Next patch has the most melee magblade tools ever though? Lotus strike, Sap Essence the dodge roll because they expected soul harvest, then soul harvest, six person melee Fear, Assassin's Will and then Double Take out. The Grim Focus stacks give a ton of mitigation to be up close and personal. You get to replace the poorly scaling two hander light attacks with a staff which can poke at range for better Assassin's Will proc uptime and still have snare removal. Honestly in some was it is still harder to build as a fully ranged magblade than as fully melee.

I run imperial in no-cp and can sustain 3 magicka skills in my build. Max magicka isn't necessary if you don't play a in-out playstyle, all you need is a kind of regen.

How much recovery would you say is ideal?

I’d like to use a sword. The only reason that allowed me to justify using a greatsword on my magblade was forward momentum, but with the new RAT that justification is gone.
