Summerset framerate drops. (PS4)

So it seems whenever i use a Wayshrine while in Summerset, and port to another wayshrine in Summerset, the FPS drops to around 5-10 after loading and goes on for about 10 seconds and then gets back to 30. i wanted to know if this is a common issue or i am just having a seizure.

I’ve noticed something similar playing on Xbox one x (using an ssd no less) ... so maybe a universal console issue? Haven’t noticed it on pc...

All dlc areas initially have bad framerate drops. Though Wrothgar and SS seem to be more noticeable.

Have no fear, happens on state of the art PC too, its the game, not hardware.

Not just Summerset.

I can get this with pretty much any zone but its intermittent.

I can even get it while travelling within a zone though thats much rarer.

My guess is texture loading from possibly fragmented files but really, who knows?

I’ve noticed this in Summerset as well.

The guild trick where you search your own name in the guild roster seems to cut the wait down a little bit.

(I have no proof or data supporting this, but it seems like it helps)

Porting from Alinor to whatever daily quest wayshrine has pretty much 100% occurance.

And yeah, its not just Summerset.

I would say zones are divided in chunks and when you port game needs to load/pull data for a new "chunk" youre in.

I get it everywhere at almost every wayshrine. Some the slideshow goes away quickly and some don't get better until I reloadui. I no longer sub on PS4 nor have I bought Elswyer.

Same here and not only in summerset. Murkmire is really bad, feels like a bad stop motion movie for the first minute after arriving there.

Yep, I’ve been noticing this ever since the screen freeze fiasco a while back. You will also reliably have frame rates of 1-5 FPS when entering the respec shrine area in Alinor. Sometimes reloadui fixes the problem.

It’s very annoying.

It’s been happening since Summerset release and gets progressively worse the more people in zone. It doesn’t always happen with wayshrining either, it happens during normal zoning.

No faith in it ever being fixed as the most the PS4 reps say is “clear your cache”...
