Warden passive green moss

I'm turning my frost tank warden I've been playing for a year to a healer warden, I've been looking up guides online but one thing doesn't add up.

You know the green moss passive gives extra 2% healing for each green balance slotted and many builds use those skills on back bar. But 10% healing buff doesn't work when I apply HoT or delayed heals and then switch to front bar. I tried this on many combinations. Still the same result. If I apply a heal from the green and switch bars, the passive doesn't work. So I'm thinking i should slot them on the front bar with an animal skill line skill slotted for regen and atk bonus.

Other green balance passives work regardless of which bar I am on, like the one that gives you resources for healing.

I don't see anyone pointing this out in the builds or the feedback. What should I do to utilize this passive? 10% more healing for 3-5 healing skills isn't something I want to give up.

You really don't need that extra healing. And all the heals you are trying to use are just not as good as resto heals. I went through all the heal in the tree before and gave my feelings on them, here-

Fungal Growth and morphs are too expensive and heal too little to use on a tank, even on my healer i only use this skill for the 10% minor buffs, once every 20 seconds.

Budding Seeds is bad on a tank because it takes 2 casts to use and it only lasts for 6 seconds, this is also why i don't use that skill on my warden healer. maybe if Budding Seeds lasted for 12 seconds, with the option to get the burst any time in that 12 seconds, otherwise it is useless on a healer too, takes too much to keep up. this skill is basically the healing ritual (the clap heal from temps line) that you can place the ground, and in my opinion it is just as bad. the only thing good about it is the synergy.

Leeching Vines is the only skill from this line that i use on my tank, to provide resources from the passive and puts minor lifesteal on the boss most of the time, might actually try using blood altar here, because blood altar also provides a synergy for the group and puts minor lifesteal on everything in 28 meter range. for 33 or 47 seconds. that is a huge amount of time.

Lotus Flower and morphs are crap heals too, once a second IF you are light weaving, which on a tank or heal you can't really do, no guarantee that the tank will get the heal, the only reason i run this on my stamden is because i am too cheap to use good pots for major savagery. inner light is 100% better if you are using this skill for the major prophecy, ie Lotus Blossom, because it gives you 7% max mag, like 3 -4k my healer and 2% regen for having it on my bar. passively. much better then having to reapply the buff every 20 seconds.

Nature's Grasp and morphs are useless for a healer because you have to aim them and they only heal one or 2 targets, one of those being you , lol, 100% useless on a tank.

Secluded Grove and morphs are a noob trap, you really ought never to need that much healing from a ulti, you need to be using warhorn.

in conclusion, maybe one skill from this line is useful to me as a tank, the rest fall short. even on my full time healer, i only use one of them and that is not even for the heal itself, it is for the buff it provides my team. i have healed and tanked all the four man dungoens in the game on my warden as a tank and healer and beat them as a dps on my bow/bow stamden, you are greatly exaggerating the usefulness of the skill in this line.

Long story short, I basically run one skill from this skill line, for the minor buffs, my front bar on my warden looks like this-

Inner light, ward Ally, netch, healing springs, combat prayer, ulti northern storm.

    I am suprprised by this.

    But I have to say:
Most healers use a combination of resto staff and class heal skills, so the buff is almost never going to be 10%
And so the Elder Scrolls foretold. You will be shy, and I will be bold.

what do your bars look like on your tank? on mine, the only skill from that tree i use is leaching vines and that is more to proc marutation then anything, from minor lifesteal. hell, even on my healer wareden, i only slot 2 skill from that tree on my bars, budding seeds and enchanted growth, more for their secondary effects then their actual heals, the synergy and minor regen buffs, respectively.

Mb I wasnt very clear. I'm using this build on my healer warden atm, I'm using lotus, enchanted grow, enchanted seeds and the ulti with a restro staff. But yeah lotus for the effect as well.

I occasionally use vines or embrace.

Excellent analysis, I got some questions. Only from the perspective of full healer pve build, since tank warden is in the past for me.

Doesn't Lotus Flower apply to nearby allies as well? They also get life steal so when you stack with DDs they all get heals without extra care?

Also, what if I need burst heal for emergencies? That's why I was keeping the Grove ulti. Also 4-man dungeons rarely seem to need warhorn unless it is vet harm mode DLC dungeon. Maybe it's just me or the server (PS4 EU), but people don't care about it much. When I was using it as a tank, rarely a healer was using it. When should I use it?

One last thing, do you think the upcoming changes to warden skill lines with update 22 would change how it plays?

Lotus flower is one heal per light/heavy. Hardly anything.

Life steal is just much better to get from altar, it lasts for 46 seconds and costs like 1750 magic on my warden healer.
.Also, what if I need burst heal for emergencies?

Ward Ally then if your hots don't get them up, combat prayer.
. Also 4-man dungeons rarely seem to need warhorn unless it is vet harm mode DLC dungeon

There is always a need for warhorn. More dps is always better.

What changes? Stam scaling to a skill?

It sounds good on paper, but then, apart from the netch and northern storm, there is really no reason to play Warden healer, then? We are getting 90% of healing from common skill lines and all the buffs from either undaunted or support lines.

Templar has shards and the spear, sorcs have pets for heals and ulti reduction passive, NBs are overall better healer. It was my first time trying a healer, but kinda regret starting a warden healer now! Only upside is Minor Toughness buff, I guess.

I checked the changes again, only changes were radius on heals and some bug fixes. I thought there were more.

Warden healers mostly utilize 2 green balance skills:
    - Enchanted growth: this is your burst heal, it needs to be aimed, BUT it is AoE
    - Budding seeds: you don´t primarily use this for the heal but to give a synergy to your tank to activate Alkosh

And concerning your original question about the "emerald moss" passive: the passive states in the tooltip "Increases your healing done with Green Balance abilities by 2% for each Green Balance ability slotted." I think it is pretty clear, that only the healing done from green balance abilities will be affected and only when on the bar where you have the bonus.

It should be clear, but many guides fail to see or test it themselves, thus made me question.

What do you think of using 2 restro staves or 1 restro+1 lightning for off balance effect? Is applying off balance still necessary for healers?

Well all that applys to all healers as far as I am concerned, any class can heal great, just using resto heals.
Templar has shards and the spear,

Orbs and shards share a cooldown. Orbs are arguably better.
. sorcs have pets for heals and ulti reduction passive,

The matriarch takes 2 bar spots. And sorcs have no way to generate ulti from passives, like every other class, so that lower cost is a wash.
    .NBs are overall better healer.

What makes you think that? They got nerfed hard, loads of their skills are not as good as they used to be.
. It was my first time trying a healer, but kinda regret starting a warden healer now! Only upside is Minor Toughness buff, I guess.

Don't worry so much, just play what you like. Minor toughness is a crazy good buff and a warden healer is really the only reliable way to get it on everyone.

Enchanted Growth is an excellent burst heal with both Minor regen buffs for Magicka and Stamina. You'll want to use it either as:
    - A buff heal like Combat Prayer
    - A quick burst self heal if needed (or for the group if you're in the right position)

Budding Seeds is gonna be your bread and butter. The main point of this skill is to provide the Harvest synergy to tanks and/or to place the Olorime proc. But it's also a great AoE heal that can catch up any mistakes that can happen if the group is stacked up in it. Always put this skill down

Lotus Blossom is a pretty neat buff that provides a spell crit buff and heals an ally while applying enchants to the boss.

Nature's Embrace, this is a skill I only use in dungeons for a strong HoT and the Ulti generation, which combined with the Ulti gain from casting Netch is very nice

Enchanted Forest. I use this morph for progression runs etc when I'm absolutely in need of a clutch heal. Regaining some of the Ultimate I spent is a nice bonus and it helps me to restart my healing rotation as well.

Besides these skills from the Green Balance tree, you'll also want:

Ice Fortress. You don't really need the other morph, the range of Fortress is sufficient to buff the DPSers on your team. And a bit of extra mitigation doesn't hurt

    Blue Betty. 'nuff said

Combine those skills with the necessary Resto Staff and Undaunted skills and you're golden.

With some very specific exceptions healers should always use a resto/lightning setup
And yes, applying offbalance is very necessary in any trial with stamDDs

Thanks for the insights, everyone. I'll tweak the build, firstly gotta rid of some healing skills if I'm gonna slot ele drain and blockade. Here's what I concluded:

Must have skills -regardless of content-:
    1. Netch
    2. Budding Seeds
    3. Ward ally (using Blackrose staff, which buffs the skill giving major vitality)
    4. Enchanted Growth -mushrooms
    5. Combat prayer
    6. Healing spring
    7. Orbs
    8. Ele blockade

Ulti: Northern Storm for magicka pool

That leaves two slots and 6-7 skills to choose from depending on the content and situation.
Still farming but will use Olorime and Jorvulds. Since Earthgore is getting heavily nerfed in the next update, using Troll Kings rn. Will prob keep using Blackrose staff on one bar for major vitality, if it works right.

what content do you want to heal?
since you are talking about farming Olo/Jorv I am assuming dungeons/trials

in that case: get rid of ward ally and the blackrose staff! it is a wayste of a skillslot/weapon slot
and get rid of enchanted growth and slot warhorn on backbar (northern storm frontbar for the max mag)

if you have an open spot on your frontbar you can slot either warden wings or inner light there
on backbar ice fortress, altar are options

I plan on heal in all 4-man dungeons. No trials except for easy normal ones like Cloudrest since I don't want to PUG vet Trials and I don't have enough time to get into a trial guild.
I can see why you recommend those skills but why the warden wings? For the passive and evasion?

there are a lot of different options and I swap them around a lot depending on the fights...

for dungeons I would go with a decisive frontbar I think for more ulti gen and backbar for me is always infused because it means my backbar-enchant will proc on cooldown from blockade
enchantments that can be usefull: shock, berserker (increase weapon damage), absorb magicka, weakening and so on...
