Just a heads up that they are renaming the Adventure Pack to the Any Race, Any Alliance Bundle on May 20th.

It's losing the Bantam Guar from the old pack, but the new pack will have the Alliance Rider Outfit and Hood, Alliance Warhorse and War Dog, as well as a Race & Name Change Token. I'll be interested to see what the Crown cost difference is. The current Adventure Pack is 1900 crowns.

EDIT: I originally only saw the removal of the old Adventure Pack and missed the new Any Race Bundle, so here was my original post containing lots of speculation of things that will never be (all that follows is Wrong, wrong, wrong wrong):

I'm surprised no one has brought this up yet. When perusing this month's showcase, the list of items being removed from the Crown Store immediately jumped out at me. The most surprising item being removed is the Adventure Pack. For those that aren't familiar with it's contents, it's the one and only way to unlock the "Any Race, Any Alliance" upgrade.

Surely they aren't completely removing the ability for all new players to mix and match their races with the alliances, so brace yourself for this ability being added in a new way. Most likely, especially given the timing, they're going to announce "Any Race, Any Alliance" becoming part of the core game with the release of the Elsweyr patch.


Now for some more long term speculation... The "Any Race, Any Alliance" upgrade's existence was probably one of the game engine's major hurdles keeping the possibility of Faction Change tokens from being an option. Perhaps it's removal will bring the game engine closer to being able to add them, should ZOS change their firm stance against such things.

The other items being removed are the Alliance Rider's Hood, Alliance Rider's Outfit, Alliance War Horse, and Alliance War Dog. Given their related theme, I wouldn't be surprised if those all ended up eventually being added to the Impresario's list of ticket-purchasable items during future PvP events.

I wish this item remained as a pre-order only bonus. A bit upset it ever got added to the store to be honest.

That's hysterical! So really, they're just renaming the pack it comes with to be more clear of what its purpose is, then tossing in a few extras.

Yep, it's being added back to the crown store, in a new pack "Any Race Any Alliance Bundle". It was there, just a couple paragraphs above the list of items being removed.

Having completely missed the section describing the new pack, which thankfully you pointed out, it made complete sense to me that they had decided to listen to the section of fans begging for it to become a main feature. It made sense to me, but was totally wrong.

Now I'm curious what the new pack is going to cost. I had previously bought the Adventurer Bundle (1900 crowns), Alliance Rider Outfit (1000 crowns), and Alliance Rider Hood (500 crowns). If the new bundle's cost is around 3500 crowns or less, I'll certainly be asking their Customer Service to switch me over. That would end up in the loss of the Bantam Guar (who cares), but would gain me a mount, dog, and extra Race & Name Change Token for the same cost.

Quite true and thank you! It's now fixed to avoid dashing anyone else's hopes and dreams. I meant to say "Race & Name Change Token".

Personally, I think we're in for far more changes to cyro and the alliance war and the things we are seeing now are to help set that up. It may not be this year, but quarter one of 2020 I'd bet we see significant changes.

My wackadoodle theory is they're bringing back alliance locks to see if one faction can win enough campaigns outright to declare a more permanent victory. The lore makes no mention of any emperors from Varen Aquelarius until Cuhlecain, who was Tber septim's boss, and assassinated extremely quickly after taking the throne.

Given that it's almost 300 years before Tiber Septim, there's a lot of blanks that need filling.

I can certainly understand anyone having gotten it as a pre-order bonus being upset that it was added to the store, but on the flip side I'm sure its inclusion has helped to bring in a good many more players.

I joined the game when Tamriel Unlimited came out (I refuse to play any game that requires a sub to play, so that had been the main factor keeping me away previously). I can say for certain had there been no option to buy Any Race, Any Alliance at the time that I first considered joining, I would have never started playing ESO as in every other TES game I'm always hellbent on playing a Bosmer fighting to free their people from the oppression of the Altmer (so I had to have a Bosmer on DC's side from the get-go).

One Tamerial was the lvl scaling releaed in 2016, ESO went F2P in 2015 called ESO:Tamriel Unlimited after the pc verison failed to keep and subbers due to a lack of endgame content, at the thime it was super themepark like.
I played the pc beta it used to current console UI.
I actually got the ESO,gold pack plus adventure pack on xbox store for like $30 back in 2016. A

Lol this is the first mmo I know of that has gotten more popular half a decade after its release.
I was sure this game wasnt gonna make it 3 years back in the beta

I'm curious what the new pack is going to cost. I'm not a fan of any of the alliance themed items and most of my characters (especially the ones I used ARAA for) are not attached enough to their alliance to wear a uniform, certainly not to fight for them in Cyrodiil. So for me increasing the price because the pack is now padded out with a bunch of alliance themed cosmetics would be really annoying.

Admittedly it doesn't matter for me personally because I got really lucky here: bought the game on Amazon a year after release but was sent a pre-order copy so I got the Explorer's pack (exactly the same as the Adventure's pack but with a scuttler instead of a bantam guar) for free. Which is good because I used ARAA on my main character - a khajiit in the Covenant, her story is she left home just ahead of the Dominion moving in and kept going until she hit the north coast.

But I doubt I'm the only one who wants ARAA and doesn't want the cosmetics, so I can imagine a lot of people will be annoyed if the price goes up.
