ESO.exe ESO64.exe keeps getting removed.

Every 1-2 week, the game somehow deletes/removes my exe file, so I can't launch the game. I can't launch it through the launcher, I can't find the exe file in the Zenimax folder, and I can't create a shortcut. Any solution for this? I have managed to get it back through the repair function, but it rarely works on the first try. I'm curious why this happens to start with.

Are you sure it isn't your anti-virus software that deletes the EXE?

Check the logs there and see if that's the case.
If so, you'll need to manually add an exception to your anti-virus scanning rules ...

Though not every 1-2 weeks, this has happened to me several times over the years.

The only thing I could ever do is to uninstall the game completely and then install it again from scratch. :(

I have been able to run the repair to fix it, but it's highly annoying when it happens. It doesn't seem to be my anti-virus software that is the problem.

Does your anti virus scan every 1-2 weeks and did you make an exception for your ESO files/folder? The only thing that's going to physically delete your game files is the game it's self or the anti virus.

It doesn't, and this also happens every time I get a new update. I had a minor update yesterday evening (don't know why), and this morning the exe file was gone again. I have made an exception for the ESO folder, but I doubt it'll make much of a difference, as I've never had this happen with any of my other MMOs.

The folder has full administrative permissions.

I had the same problem and I found out that it was AVG my antivirus that deleted some eso files

Exactly why one would suspect the anti-virus. The real time check on your harddrive only kicks in when a file is rewritten (updated) so your virus scanner may not bother with the EXE until after it's updated ...

Assuming you have no idea what is causing it:

If you don't want to use repair functionality or re-downloading every time, then you could try using a rar archiving program to encrypt the executable and its file-name using a password, and then back up that rar to another part of your hard drive. Of course, you would need to make a new rar every time there is a patch. But, you could simply unpack it any time you need to replace the missing executable.

Only time I've had problems with anti-virus programs deleting .exe files is when I placed my program directly in the C:/ directory. If I placed program in the Program Files or Program Files ( x86 ) directory the anti-virus would not delete my exe files.
