Elswyr pre-order: can I play base game now?

In the features list, it mentions Elswyr comes with the base game and previous expansions. Does this mean, if I pre-order, I'll get to play the prior games until Elswyr is out? Or will I have to wait til everything is out? I'm just now getting around to joining the game so I don't have anything from before.

Yes, you can play now if you buy the elsweyr edition (but not just the expansion pack)
