Good Necromancer sets? (Thematically, not BiS)

Necropotence, obviously. But I'm curious about other ideas. A few suggestions:

Unfathomable Darkness. Because crows. A Necromancer should have crows.

Bahraha's Curse, because Bahraha was a necromancer, and the whole cursed ground effect fits.

Leeching Plate. Poison seems a natural fit, and healing yourself through the damage done to your enemies (same as Bahraha's). Perfect.

Oblivion's Foe. Trapping souls: what more could you ask for? Oh yeah, a set that was actually any good. But it fits thematically.

Any other thoughts?

EDIT: To clarify, I'm really interested in sets which have an effect that fits the theme, such as the crows of Unfathomable Darkness, rather than the increased magicka of Necropotence. But that's just me

I don't see them in meta as they are not solely spell damage sets but i run then currently on my pet sorc and will just slap them on my necro and see if they pull the same performance

maelstrom staff (probably fire but maby lightning back-bar? they have all 3 elements in their kit so dunno what would be best)

Illambris monster helm when i need to stay at range, Zaan for eveything else.

In TES universe necromancy is all about dealing with the forces of oblivion and playing with souls, so disease/poison is thematically irrelevant. So, on that note we can limit the set choices. For example:
- Worm's Raiment (worm cult is a cult of necromancers)
- Shroud of the lich (some necromancers aspires lichdom)
- Draugr hulk
- Essence thief (draw the essence of your enemies)
- Oblivion's edge (soul trapping)
- Tormentor (tormenting souls?)
- Nerien'eth

Two sets im definitely using on my magnecro are Nerien'eth and Caluurion's Legacy. Maybe I'll add on Necropotence since I'll have the mage skelly on the front bar as well.

Who, me? I personally didn't list it because although the name fits thematically, the actual effects (boost magicka regen) are generic. That's also fine, of course, but I was looking for sets which actually help me to feel like I'm playing a Necromancer (actually, Necropotence kind of has the same problem, although at least that's based on pets...)

don't know if they are lore friendly but my magcro is prolly going to be wearing spinners/Spell Strategist. i suppose SS could be seen as a curse and necros are all about curses right? prolly going to be using Ilambris over Nerien'eth, just not enough direct damage to have Nerien'eth proc a lot.

It actually procs quite often, or at least it does for me.

It actually procs quite often, or at least it does for me.

i used to run Nerien'eth on my magblade, it never did more then 2-3% of my damage. valkyn, though, does 4-5%.

of course, but what does as magcro have that is going to proc it more? Stalking Blastbones? Ricochet Skull? 10% proc on direct damage is just too low to be worth using, especially when Illambris is going to porc so much more, flame wall, Stalking Blastbones, Skeletal Arcanist and Mystic Siphon will have be procing that set going off cooldown. Nerien'eth needs a buff to like 30-40% to have it be more then just a super cool looking set and proc. Nerien'eth is by far my favorite damage set for looks too.
