    Ngl, it would give Mages a proper tanking skill line, and would hopefully allow the normal Frost Staff to finally become a pure DPS weapon. Though for this to work, they'd probably have to make a one-handed Staff that works with this combo so the 2-handed staves don't get gimped., or a wand.

    Yes we should... as new stam classes are designed with about the same amount of stam and mag offensive morphs and reworks are in the pipeline to do the same with the vanilla classes it would only be fair to introduce new magicka weapon lines... side note: maybe if sword and staff functioned as the magicka tanking line with a tanking ult, five tanking actives, and five tanking passives then we could give frost back to cryomancers and forget about this frost destruction magic is for tanking thing

    Also stam really needs spears... their is no reason why this game has quests that involve “collecting caches of spears” and npc that can use spears without the option for players to use spears

    Let's just keep it to Wand and board. The 2-handed destruction is a fine enough DPS magicka weapon.

    Never happen. If so, we will have dual wield wands and PVPers demanding a nerf of the magblade DW wand gankers, and PVEers crying about the magsorc DW wand players are proof of power creep, and how it is unfair that they have to use twice the mats to improve their wands when the staff guy only needs one, and then the new patch will make necromancers with DW wands OP, blah blah blah.

    Stam has 2h, dw, s&b, and bow while mag only has destro staff... you could say that this is because offensive magicka morph stacked classes like templar, nightblade, sorcerer, and dragonknight can fill in the gap with class skills but what about the warden and necro?

    The way I see it. attempting to dual wield wands should do absolutely nothing, no additional benefits and no proper skill line for them either. That way it could be made perfectly clear that the wand is for tanking with a shield, no more, no less.

    Wands aren't part of the ES universe. Spells are learned and casted from the self or using staves.

    Fair point...I'll be honest, a Magicka-based melee weapon doesn't sound like a bad idea.

    So, there ARE wands in the elder scrolls universe. It would seem not such a great leap to overcharge them from making shadow-chicken explode to doing bad things to full grown enemies, right?

    Personally tho I am not a great fan of any "Magic and shield" ideas - since I would expect a magician come up with a more magical solution then hoisting a physical shield they usually do not have the brawn to properly use anyhow since they put it all in magica... but a more close-ranges, higher firepower magical weapon skill line? Yes, please!

    Ah, buit staves are two-handed weapons, and shields... are shields.

    ...like I suggested there, one-handed and a throwing weapon (dagger, javelin, like some NPCs use) would be neat, and one-handed and magic (runestone or wand) would be great for the "spellsword" feeling. And if they make an offhand magic weapon, they might as well also let us dual-wield it for two-fisted in your face casting!

    And I imagine... they could make said offhand magic weapon as either "wand" with a little range bonus, or "runestone" with a little damage bonus, and add both to the jeweler crafting line, meaning no motivs, as those things would be too small to have visual differences anyhow... and it'd give more people incentive to spend cash on Summerset or whenever they might add jeweler unlock to the crown store otherwise... thus more profit for ZOS, increasing the chances this could actually happening. Not that I wouldn't expect them to hide ANY new skill behind a DLC or Expansion anyhow.

    Also, a great incentive to one-handed and ranged/magic would be... you could make "duellist" and "spellsword" type characters by using those... take 1H&R and just don't use the ranged stuff - duellist. Take 1H&M and make a pseudo-hybrid character for the "magic fighter" feeling... (though I still would wish them bring back softcapt to make actual hybrids viable again...)
