Is this correct - lets say i have
Bar 1: Inferno Staff
Bar 2: Lightning Staff
When i lay down blockade of FIRE and switch AFTERWARDS to my lightning staff it gets the lightning AOE bonus for as long as i stay on the lightning staff?
When i lay down blockade of Lightning and switch AFTERWARDS to my inferno staff the blockade of lightning gets the AOE bonus for the whole duration?

Somewhere✭✭✭✭Ground based DOTs like in your example have their damage recalculated on each "tick" based on your stats at the time. So, if you lay down wall of elements while on your lightning bar, that first tick will get the additional 8%, but each subsequent "tick" that goes off while you're on the inferno bar will not get the 8% bonus. As a result, most damage dealers will simply run 2 inferno staves, since wall of fire deals additional damage to enemies on fire and you won't get the lightning bonus anyway.1
