Easiest And Most Forgiving Veteran Dungeon?

Hi All!

I'm at CP330 on my stam DPS Templar and want to dip my toe into a veteran dungeon. Which is the easiest and most forgiving for me to brush up on my mechanics ahead of time and not make a complete fool of myself? I have made my build based on metas, got most of the crafted sets I needed, practiced my rotation in PVE and PVP.... I just want a dungeon to see how "ready" I am.

What would you suggest?

    Go for Dungeons I.

Crypts of Hearts 1. There are no one-shot mechanics as I remember, but if your dps is too low, last boss will take like eternity and you'll see if are you ready or not.

While the dungeon is easy, the last boss has 10 million HP (with scroll), and if you position yourself wrong, you can get one shot from them quite easily.

Wayrest 1 has final boss can KO final people if low cp or don't block/shield. In this case it's actually 2 that is easier.

FG1 is super easy on vet as long as you dodge roll out of the big PBAOE the last boss does.
Playing your character the way your character should play is all that matters. Play as well as you can but never betray the character. Doing so would make playing an mmoRPG pointless.

Agreed. I do not recommend Wayrest 1. Final boss KO’s so many max CPs.

    I’d start with these two:

    Fungal Grotto 1
    City of Ash 1

OP asked for a dungeon which will test his build. One-shot in CH1.. it's more like if 1 boss explodes and second will runaway from tank and hit you in the same moment, so still requires 2 errors to die. While in other HMs like Spindle1/Wayrest1/Fungal1, boss really one-shots if attack is not blocked/dodged, this 1-shot mechanics don't test anything, they simply require experience how to counter them.
For dps main check is, well, dps. And that's what last boss of CH1 provides.

Pretty much every veteran dungeon has one or more mechanics that can KO people if they don't pay attention. I fully disagree that Wayrest II would be easier. The normal trash mobs in Wayrest II are more difficult, and have more health. There are bosses in Wayrest II that are much more difficult than the last boss in Wayrest I. If you don't do the alters, you'll wipe on the boss, the lich in the water can one shot the entire team if your healer is a bit slow. It's all around a more difficult dungeon than Wayrest I. I PuG a lot, and Wayrest I is the dungeon that my groups get Survivor on the easiest, along with City of Ash I.

Assuming you are going to use group finder so no matter what dungeon you pick your results will vary based who you get grouped with.just don’t go with dlc dungeons or city of ash 2. Save those for when you have higher cp and have more experience

IMO COA I is the easiest, and has the easiest HM aside from Darkshade II, which I wouldn't recommend until you're comfortable with vet dungeons and your DPS (it's basically a DPS test)... DSC II HM is actually easier than the non-HM if you have decent DPS, coordination, and a good healer.

Also sometimes you just get a bad group. So if you have a bad run don’t get discouraged. The only way you get better is to practice

    Fungal 1,
    Darkshade 1,
    Spindle 1,
Vaults of Madness and maybe Crypt of Hearts 1.

Also I find volenfell to be pretty easy. The only thing on last boss it not so much about dps as it is just staying on the move.

Really any non #2 base game dungeon in non hard mode is rather forgiving. Hard mode typically just adds more health and damage in base game non version 2 dungeons. If you are on PS4 na I often tank dungeons for newer people that have tried to prepare and would tank any base game non version 2 dungeon...

COA1, main reason you don't get no death run is fall damage jumping down from the tree :)
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

I am currently cp 709, and I just completed my first veteran dungeon last evening. It was Banished Cells II due to that being the undaunted pledge I had.

I was the tank, and it was going very well until the final boss. Our group was wiped out after a fairly long fight. Then the group leader informed us all that it was set to hard mode, and asked if that is what we wanted. Everyone replied "no". After that we had no trouble killing the boss.

I have been planning on completing veteran dungeons for a long while, though This game has so much content, and events, that doing them just keeps getting pushed down my to do list.

Hardmode has a one shot on the final boss, which wrecks a lot of newer players, and then typically wrecks people trying to res those down players.

Any of the 1 dungeons, you should be perfectly fine especially if you have done the normal versions.

If you want a great set of catch up vids, Xynode’s All About Mechanics ones on YouTube are the business.

    Good luck and have fun

BC1 has an nasty one shot who is very hard on low cp even non HM. Yes its an mechanic for it.

For that watch the relevant dungeon before doing it, its probably the best walk-trough I know.

I agree with a lot of the previous posters. Go for the "I" (one) version dungeons, like Fungal Grotto I, etc. Also, you are likely to end up with a group of experienced people who have done them many times.

Gratz on your first vet. BC2 can be a full on pain if people don’t know what to do especially for the tank. You won’t find many that difficult from a tanking perspective outside the DLC ones.

It will all seem easy from here on in :)

I find Darkshade Caverns easier than City of Ash for some reason. I think it's the annoying teleport of the final boss in CoA.
