The reason I have not purchased Elsweyr.

Necromancers. This is the primary reason I will continue not to buy Elsweyr. After seeing all of the patches that either directly effected Wardens or resulted from Wardens after Morrowind, I knew the same thing was going to happen again. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.

I will wait until Necromancers have been nerfed to stamDK/stamplar before I buy Elsweyr.

For me, it goes a little deeper. I'm not interested in playing a Necromancer and a new class does nothing for my existing characters. Dragons are just the new dolmens. Getting to visit Elsweyr is cool, but that alone isn't worth buying a new Chapter for me. So, I'm more than happy to wait for it to go on a major sale before maybe picking it up.

Now, had they included a new independent skill line or a new crafting system, or anything that immediately benefits my existing characters, I would have been tempted to pick it up. Sadly, it's just devoid of significant features to make it worth it for me. Compare to Summerset which had both a new skill line and jewelry crafting. Or compare to Morrowind which didn't just bring a new class but also brought a completely new type of PvP with Battlegrounds.

I'll just wait until the night before it releases. I'll be able to see all the changes coming and make an informed decision, whether or not necromancer is overpowered or a wet noodle. I see zero reasons to preorder ahead of that time. If a change gets announced next week that makes me want to give up the game, I have to go through the hassle of getting a refund on a preorder I shouldn't have done in the first place. I can't play it until June, why buy it in April? It's not like they are going to sell out.

@Ertosi You make some pretty good points. Compared to other chapters, it doesn't release as much content. It would have been nice to have another skilline with it. But it does have new houses...which many say, is the true endgame content...I only own one home....sooo

I'm still hoping they offer something (else) cool for us this year at E3 (for Q4 at least). During the Elsweyr announcement, Rich seemed fairly excited about what they intend to talk about there. We'll see :relieved:

I do really like the dragons though, even though they are more of a static event then I would have hoped. The furniture in Elseweyr is also super exciting. Also, the motifs, the Alfiq, and the beautiful zone. My only concern is for all of those chained up doors of buildings we can't enter into on the PTS. I would be extremely disappointed if like Morrowind, they left a lot of them untouched. Adventuring around and finding closed doors kills the fun of exploration for me. I need to enter all the buildings and rob everyone blind of all their fancy wares for a satisfying experience

Does OP realize tha Necromancers will still be added to the game they play. Their purchase is irrelevant. Also, OP seems to have a faulty memory. Wardens were a weak class when added to the game.

So OP, you will deal with necromancers and your choice to not purchase the chapter will have zero effect on things.

    Favorite Foods and Potions
    https://media.giphy.com/media/3otPoTggaYFNd1FdAI/giphy.gif
    • Parse Food for PvE:(DPS) Ghastly Eye Bowl (increases Max Magicka by 4592 and Magicka Recovery by 459 for 2 hours).
    • Gold/Purple Food for Sorc PvP and Meme Tanking:(PvP) Clockwork Citrus Filet (increases Max Health by 3326, Health Recovery by 406 [useful if stage 1 vampire], Max Magicka by 3080, and Magicka Recovery by 338 for 2 hours). Witchmother's Potent Brew (Increase Max Magicka by 2856, Max Health by 3094, and Magicka Recovery by 315 for 2 hours.
    • Trash Potions when feeling cheap: Regular CP150 Essence of Magicka pots that I obtain frequently from playing the game or Crown Tri-Restoration Potion obtained from dailies.
    • Crafted Potions: Essence of Spell Critical (Bugloss, Lady's Smock, and Water Hyacinth). Without magelight this is my primary means of obtaining Major Prophecy on my Sorc, which increases my Spell Critical Rating. This also heals and restores magicka. Essence of Immovability (Columbine, Corn Flower, and Wormwood). I use this in PvP, since this gives me stealth detection, knockback immunity, and restores magicka (better to use it when competent allies are nearby, since it might reveal that you are surrounded by multiple players in stealth and you will not have an emergency pot available after use). Essence of Invisibility with only 2 ingredients (Blue Entoloma, Namira's Rot, Nirnroot, or Spider Egg). I use this in PvE content that requires stealth and if I need more speed I'll use Rapid Maneuver before using the potion. Essence of Invisibility with 3 ingredients (Blessed Thistle, Blue Entoloma, and Namira's Rot). Very useful in PvP alongside the vampire Dark Stalker passive, since you'll be invisible, ignore movement speed penalty while in Crouch, and you'll have a 30% movement speed boost from Major Expedition (I always have this slotted when riding from point A to B in PvP land, since gankers are always lurking). My templar/arcanist will mostly use Essence of Health (Tri-Stat Potion) Ingredients: (Mountain Flower, Columbine, and Bugloss).

True - I'll just do the upgrade when the time comes.

I've got everything else and that's all I care about.

The ESO pvp is the best pvp experience i had. Candy Crush is a PVE game with scoring charts, it is more accurate to compare it with ESO trials or ESO VMA.

I just expressed my opinion...no need to be salty about it.....
I just hope ZOS takes the useful information from it and makes grinding not that painful.

    Account wide undaunted,

The reason why I haven't purchased Elsweyr:

    Necromancers.

    But, for a different reason.

In every single Elder Scrolls game, Necromancers are frowned upon by most of the NPC community to the point where they are even shunned and have to resort to practicing and living in caves.

Yet, there will be Necromancers in every town, walking around freely, as if it is a normal occurrence and completely acceptable.

Great job on continuing to break TES lore once again Zenimax!

Oh, and they are bringing dragons back and had to make a story up to create the illusion it is "lore-friendly."

As a player of all of TES games, that is entirely upsetting to me.

But then again, it is an MMO and money is more important than keeping the lore-driven story straight.

Yes they was not named high elves because they was tall :)
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

Yeh....I've been playing TES since release day of Arena.

I stopped pretending this was an Elder Scrolls game long ago.

I enjoy the game and have fun with it, but it takes place in some backward alternate universe of what Bethesda created.

Ditto. Necromancers don't belong as a playable class. So I won't be playing them. However, I will be playing in Elsweyr. So that's a definite plus.

I haven't pre-purchased Elsweyr, either. I have too many projects in the game already, which are too time-consuming. Farming furnishing plans takes a long time, farming furnishing mats takes a long time, building character skill lines takes a long time... There's no room in my schedule for any more content at the moment.
