Psijic Portals in Murkmire

I finally got to the point where I've gone to Murkmire to quest. I'm almost done with the main quest, have done most of the secondary quests I could find, and pretty much cleared the map (all points of interest, wayshrines etc..). I haven't seen a single Psijic portal so far.

How was your experience with them in Murkmire? Did you see/interact with any of them there?

I don't recall seeing a Psijic portal in Murkmire, no. Actually I haven't seen many runestones at all.

The portals are just super rare. I hardly see them anywhere just in general.

@Wildberryjack , I haven't had any problems with the normal nodes (aside from Jewelry ones, now that I think about it). I've seen plenty of runestone nodes.

@Starlock , aside from AD territory, which I did before I acquired Summerset, and Coldharbour (I can't say anything about Craglorn, as I haven't done much there), I've seen portals everywhere.

I have seen them but htey are farmed quite fast due to places I saw them spawning at, one spawns at that necromancer WB, 2nd right after the bridge from bright throat village leading to root whisper one. Haven't seen any other so far.

My seat of the pants observation (i've been doing a *lot* of zone mapping):

It seems there is a fixed (and fairly low) number of Psijic Portals per zone that can be active at any given time.
Meaning, the larger the zone, the less likely you'll be to run into a portal.

There are several small zones where i can run a farming route and consistently get portals during my runs.

No such luck on larger zones ...


PS: And yes, they share the spawn locations with rune stones

I saw one last week in Murkmire. It was right on top of an NPC. So, of course, I killed the NPC. Portal was bugged and still could not open. Sorry random Argonian lady. :'(
