To the pvp pve trouble right now in this event...

I play fairly actively in both PvE and PvP content, and I don’t think all this arguing and disliking the other group is getting us anywhere. It’s not like all PvPers are the ones that camp to take people out on the way to imp city, or more recently by these quest givers. And it’s also not like all PvE people are kicking any PvP people out of groups. Yes, those things do happen, but if you use what is being done on one side to justify your bad actions to the other side, then that is not cool.

Events are supposed to be fun, friends! Cyrodiil is honestly a pretty cool place, I’ve found. Yes, I’ve been killed trying to turn in a quest many times, and after getting killed 5 or 6 times in a row it does get frustrating. But these people doing this are not a reflection of the whole. I’ve been fishing with people from all factions, peacefully and side by side. I’ve had a kind DC player let me through the gate to get a skyshard once. And when I actually jump into the PvP aspects of Cyrodiil, I’ve had great fun taking down keeps and having massive battles against the other factions.

Being spiteful at a whole group for a part of it does nothing to help anyone. Once I heard that holding a grudge and trying to get revenge is like drinking poison and expecting the other person to die. So, friends, I know not everyone is perfect and I know that some of the comments I’ll get for posting this will be pretty silly, but just try to be nice to your fellow players in game, no matter what type of event we’re doing - PvE or PvP. In the end this is just a game, and we’re all here to have fun. So please don’t kick players out of dungeon groups for no reason, and please don’t kill people just trying to turn in a quest or fish or whatever. I’ve seen the best and worst of both of these groups, and I know how much better it all can be.

The answer to most of life’s problems is a good guild. I hope the new guild finder feature will help people out. I see most of my guilds running event groups and if I feel like doing a dungeon on a lowbie toon or a PvP toon just for experience or rewards, there’s usually people who are happy to come along or need to do the same.

Amen. The amount of cancerous hazards that is now the forum is freaking disgusting.

At one side I want to slap PVEers for being so silly and naive to think they can happily quest in an open PVP zone without being ganked. At the other side the amount of toxicity that the gankers are posting is surprising even when you expect them to be a swamp full of radioactive mud.

Isn't the "ESO fam" considered one of the best communities out there? (LOL!)

And ZoS I hope you learn something from all this.

If you don’t hit anyone, generally no one hits you. Last year there’s were 50+ people in Chydenhal of all three alliances and no one bothered anyone else. Youd get to see aggressors be completely ignored by their own alliance as everyone else turned on them for trying to ganking someone that posed zero threat to them

Most PvEers will avoid you if they have pets that might aggro on you, they won’t help npc guards attack you, they try not to hit you with AoEs, and most the time they’ll just do weird emotes once they realize you’re not going to be hostile

This exact same swarm of posts happened last year too. If ZOS learned anything from it, they limited the PVP questing to two weeks only (last year it was two weeks, then three thanks to the extension), and gave us two Midyear Mayhems.

Me i dont mind PvP or PVE really both have there play styles and if a pvP player comes in a group area with me and cant put out what is needed I don't kick theme I ask PvP or PVE. If they answer PvP I tell theme don't attack like that and give some advice or work with theme. Only thing I do not like is when PvPers go out of there way to kill PVE players that just go to cyrodill to get the Skyshards and that is it, all I ask if I am there doing that and I tell you that leave me alone I just getting theme and will leave.

i did 40 dailies in cyro today sure got killed by a few Ahats who clearly knew i was not fighting but on the whole most ppl regardless of faction just picked up their quests tried to avoid hitting each other, was good to see the truce and alot of ppl making it easier for the pve'rs, of course next week it all goes back to being salt city lol

i dont use lightning form or a monster set or any AOE in the delve quests just light attacks

As a PVE player I am loving the hate. I am getting rich. PVE players are staying away. On my 3 pve characters i get up to 90 boxes a day and selling the styles. I'm in the money!

PVE'rs just want their anniversary boxes, they don't give a crap about other players for the most part. To quote Agent J, "Don't start nothin' won't be nothin'."

Actually, yes! I know it can happen. If I see someone is obviously not trying to kill me and we’re not trying to take a keep that you’re in or something, I would gladly leave you alone.

I'm not fond of labels, but I suppose I'm a casual PvEr. I plan to get into PvP someday, but it's going to be my endgame. In the meantime, I play ESO to have fun-- and if it ever stops being fun for me, I'll stop playing it.

I've grown to like Cyrodiil-- to an extent-- but it wasn't always that way. What changed it for me was that I discovered sneaking.

Yes, I probably should have known about sneaking already, since I spend so much time sneaking in the other zones. But I'd assumed that sneaking in Cyrodiil is like sneaking everywhere else-- NPCs might not see you, but other players can.

Now that I know otherwise, I enjoy taking scouting missions, trying to sneak undetected from one side of Cyrodiil to the other without being killed, writing down my report, and trying to get back to base to turn in my report. I enjoy getting into the RP of it-- I'm a spy, and I'll be killed if I'm caught.

Along the way, if I run into a quest giver, I'll take a long detour to complete the side quest. I used to take an occasional daily quest in one of the towns, but haven't done that lately. And I've done a few delves-- and ran into players from other alliances while doing so, but we all just left each other alone.

A large part of having fun is keeping the right attitude. That can be difficult to do when things get really frustrating, and I know from personal experience that it can be frustrating to get jumped by other players in Cyrodiil when you're just trying to mind your own business. That happened to me just last night-- I took one step outside the outpost that my alliance owned which was closest to my scouting assignment, and promptly got clobbered by a lone player from another alliance. I actually got a chuckle out of it, because before I'd stepped through the door I'd thought about going into sneak mode, but decided not to. I wasn't even trying to attack him, just trying to run away, and he was happily bouncing up and down, zapping me with his wand until he finally killed me. I just resurrected back inside the outpost and left by an exit on the other side, making sure to go into sneak mode before heading out the door. I could have gotten really angry about it, but that wouldn't have helped.

I do enjoy sneaking around! The trouble is that not everyone knows how to sneak well or doesn’t have cloak, and I feel awful when the new PvE folks come in and say that they’ve been taken out 5 or 6 times in a row just trying to turn in a quest.

I can certainly appreciate when someone takes me down once well! I mean, good on them. But when it starts to be three or four then snap, that’s rough.

I was in a mostly PvE group that tried to defend one of the towns from these unkind folks. They basically 2v15’d us. It was pretty disheartening to not even be able to get them back, even when we were strategizing, working together, and really trying.

I'm not one that got into PVP, But I kinda enjoyed it trying to do farm quests w/ THOSE ppl tryed to invade and steal my potatos ... must be because I'm Irish;)

I leave alone questers from another alliances so ye I can promise you me and my teammates will leave you alone unless you attack us first or your alliance friends attack us while you stand near them, as we can mistake you for being one of them.

It's PvP, don't come into a PvP zone then if you're afraid that you dying in a video game is entertaining for another person.

It's not at their expense, it's a game, it's PVP, and it's what this week's event is about. I am totally respectful about killing them in a PVP environment.

It's PvP, don't come into a PvP zone then if you're afraid that you dying in a video game is entertaining for another person.

I personally am not afraid. I wouldn't mind getting killed a couple times trying to turn in my quest. It's happened many a time. I'm trying to make a stand for all the pve players that are going to have a bad experience and not want to come back.

PvP is pretty cool! I enjoy it. What I don't enjoy is people obviously trying to kill questers over and over. Once or twice? I get it. But I've seen people be better than this.

When I see someone obviously questing when I'm out there doing some PvP, I leave them alone. It's fair that not everyone is going to act the same, and if you want to cause trouble for folks, i can't stop you. But I'm allowed to say my part and say that I know PvP people that are far kinder to these newcomers to our land and yet still can put up an amazing fight.

I just stay away from Cyro. I have nothing against PVPers, it's just not my thing. So all you PVPers have fun! I'll be over here fishing in overland zones.

I'm actually RPing when I kill questers. No filthy Dominion and Covenant can quest in peace! ZoS is forcing me to be faction loyal, so I'm faction rping.
