Will you still main as NB?

A lot of talk about NB changes that might be (are probably) coming up. But have the changes actually crossed the line and are you going to play something else? Maybe Necromancer? Or will you just stick with it despite the changes?

I actually think the way ZOS decides to nerf something is they look at what's popular and nerf it. Maybe some internal admin program counts how many times Merciless resolve (for example) is being used over a period of time, and then they think "We want people to use all the skills not just this one all the time, so let's make the most popular skill less attractive and maybe the players will start using these other useless skills."

For myself - I might just use my NB to get all the remaining skyshards as quickly as possible (cloak through all the delves) then see how much the crown store skyshard unlock is going to be and if it's worth it. Probably see if Necromancer's any fun.

You guys are so dramatic lol. NB still uses the exact same loadout on pts nothing changed. And they are only being out DPS by necro and necro is bugged right now so after necro is fixed they stand a chance to out DPS necro......

So how is NB bad after this update IF NOTHING CHANGED AND YOUR DAMAGE OUTPUT IS STILL THE HIGHEST? lol you all are silly

In group content yes, because the things they took can be replaced by tanks ans healers but in solo situations where there is no tank and healer the damage will be reduced to the point that nightblades will struggle. For example vMA just got a but harder for stamblades and it is very unforgiving as it is before the nerf.

I'm still trying to beat the last boss in vMA but can't seem to so far. With these nerfs, I may never beat it.

In PvP, these nerfs will mean nightblades will have a very hard time killing anyone solo because the damage output just will not happen. So more and bigger zergs will happen and less small man and even less solo play.

Even though I mainly PvE and raid, PvP still exists in this game and in PvP NBs took a massive hit. In vMA too

I have several nightblades, but I don't run a main. I haven't followed what the drama of these changes is about, but as a non-competitive PvEer I know that they will make no difference to me - such changes never have. As I said in another thread today, I welcome the fact that classes are tweaked from time to time, heaven forbid that everything in a MMORPG should stay set in stone from the date of launch till ever more.

Of course I will continue to play my NB. Just like I play the other 4 Classes. In 5 years, no Balance change has ever led me to think a Class is useless.

Now, of course, all 5 of my original classes are going to getting drunk in the Volijar Meadery for a couple of weeks, while Ievel and learn the Neceomancer.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

Not useless - that's an extreme view and not what I'm saying.

What I see is interesting from the straw poll is that a lot of people will stick with the class as their primary and just adjust to the changes.

One of my 4 mains is a Nightblade and she'll still be a Nightblade after this update.

I actually leveled her exclusively in PvP right after PC launch.
Those of you who have been here that long might remember that Nightblades were completely broken back then and yet it was still a lot of fun.

She will adapt once again ...

I agree with this. This is only the first phase of the pts. Typically the third is when they start cementing in balance changes. Now is a good time to make your voices heard on whatever you like (or dislike) about the direction the patch is taking.

i have a nb on each server and i'm still trying to figure out how to play them. people complain the changes kill them but i cant get either to perform well now!

    ahahah

one is a healer and the other is a stamina dps (or intended to be) im running hundings and night mother's gaze on the dps and i dont have a monster set yet for her but honestly i'm thinking about storm fist and velidreth and realizing how hard cos is on vet i think ill go for stormfist as i have two or three headpieces for that so far (but no shoulders yet) I know what alcast says about briar heart and hundings but i might like to play with sheer venom and viper sets along with a velidreth for a while... maybe one day ill do some hrc and cr on vet for that so called ultimate gear...

Sure maybe in a group were tanks and healers can buff you but what about solo play in cyrodiil I’m sure I’m not the only player who just prefers playing alone your damage playing solo going to be awful I can see heavy wardens and dks templars laughing at me now at my weak damage thn there ver vma now I can easily do it now I done it thousand times when bk in the day vma 2 h was meta update 22 good luck the npc won’t even feel a thing lmao 😂

I've always hated Grim Focus's clunky mechanics and it was very annoying having to slot it to be competitive.
I also really like the new Surprise Attack. I'll take position mechanics over simple debuffs anytime.

So, nerfs yes, but more interesting gameplay. I'm in!

If you struggle to beat vMA it simply means you need to practice more, your class has very little to do with it. I did it on my Stamplar multiple times wearing Briarheart-Ravager, all pieces purple and with most of my gear having traits like invigorating or inpen.

Also, Lingering HP pots trivialize most fights. The only difficult part of vMA is resource management, use those pots and 50% of your healing needs are taken care of, leaving you with much more free stamina to spend elsewhere.

I retired my NB "main" (the first character I made) about a month later, because with my ping, playing a stamblade with a difficult-ish rotation was just too much. Now, I still play her, having learned a lot more about rotations and so on in almost a year, and I have various other NBs that I play regularly.

I play all my toons - whether I'm very good at their rotations or not....
