Does Guard work in PVE?

I was wondering how the support skill Guard works in pve settings particularly.
Do your resists factor into the redistributed damage you take? Or is it based only on your targets resists?
Also does the redistributed damage trigger effects like blood spawn that activate when you take damage?

Blinkin8r✭✭✭✭✭It does. I've had the tank guard me with the minor force version for DLC no deaths cause I'm squishy on my stam. As of now, you have 30% less damage basically. That damage goes through your resists, and the resists of the person guarding you before hitting them. This is changing though in the patch notes supposedly. It can trigger bloodspawn yes.II Blinkin II

✭✭Hmm. I was thinking about using it on the tank as a healer so the tank would take less damage. Seems really good. But I wasnt sure if my own resists would do anything. Using it as a tank makes sense too. I'll check out the patch notes.0
