Nerfs: Why are players of ESO such hypocrites?

I'm a NB too, and while i'd rather see interesting buffs to other classes instead... I'm fine with it.

Community is divided between casuals and competent players and pvp vs pve. More so than any other mmo

Any intelligent player (talking about PVE, not PVP as that is something I do not follow) knows that Nightblades, be it Stam or Mag will be fine. Probably still top unless Necros release in an OP state.

I don't think anyone has a problem with parsers so long as they are only visible to the person using them. It's when other players can view the "parses" of others that it becomes an issue for people. And I don't see anything hypocritical about that.

These complaints come (primarily) from PvP players. Most people who play PvE don't really complain about other classes unless they are in some super hard core bleeding edge vet trial guild and they are worried that they are going to lose their spot.

In PvP it basically boils down to complaining about mechanics over their own failure to adapt. What they don't realize that no matter how much they nerf something, another class/spec will just become the new target of all the complaints. I am guessing wardens will be next.

I have quoted the forum meme before, but it bears repeating;
Scissor says; "Nerf rock. Paper is fine." - (That's the complaints in a nut shell.)

Never actually called to nerf or anything like that... but:

For those who say nerf this, nerf that, this is killing me in PvP etc. - this will happen to you at some point. If you call for nerfs, sooner or later you will fall a victim to your own medicine. Be objective & try to be above classes, races & skill lines. By not being biased, you can give the best feedback that can be.

In the end its better to try to bring classes and abities in line of or equal to what seems high instead of trying to kick the feet out from under others.

Keep kicking enough feet, you'll slip and end up eating crow.

My concern is that although NB got nerfed DPS wise, the other aspects of the class, PvE Tank & healer were not touched at all and NB will still underpreform heavily at those roles. I had my hopes. Now I am disappointed.

Post WotLK era in WoW marked the time that if anyone seen as casual in any and all mmorpgs was to be seen as a blight upon society.

Obviously, the person you qouted believes that casuals are scum and worthless, while they, are competent and must be adored and praised for they play longer then anyone else they, or we can literally name.

Because casuals can't possibly be competant when all the care about is playing dress and going questing instead of doing vet dungeons and trials /s

I'd consider myself a casual but I can still pull 35-40k dps and used to run with a progression guild. People who think casuals are lesser than them since they don't do the same content are part of the elitist problem whether they realize it or not.

I just sit back and laugh with this Nightblade nerf alot of the people that are complaining about the Nightblade nerfs now were celebrating Sorc nerfs last year while I hate to see a class get nerfed since its bad game design this nightblade nerf is karma

Because everyone wants to be a winner.

In PVP: Everyone sees the effort that goes into their own kills, and feels the ease with which opponents get the kills on them. So they feel perpetually underpowered compared to other classes. Regardless of what class they are.

In PVE: ZOS balances PVE like its King of the Hill. Everyone wants to the be meta King of the Hill and get picked first for gym class dodgeball team Sunspire trial.


Or to put it in a kinder light:
Objectivity comes from having a broad experience with a variety of different classes and different playstyles, and many players would rather stick with the class/playstyles they know they enjoy.

The real plague of the community are the scripters. Actual cheating trash, instant break free all the time, dodge incap every time, bash instead of light attack like rest us normal players.

I hope so. Solo pve took a nasty turn here. I'm going to hit the pts and experiment with everything I can until I can find something to avoid going backwards. But there's no puncture or combat prayer coming my way and DW enchantments are still a joke. I'd like to end my evening clearing content I normally do and then buying the chapter, but it's not at all obvious that I'll be able to.

I like to remind myself that the decision is out of my hands.

This isn't the first time that a game dev' has taken an action that disadvantages me in their respective title, and it won't be the last.

I'll adapt. At the end of the day it is just a game, and even in real world sports, rules get changed.

So I'm under no illusion that the games I play on my computer are exempt from this pretty standard practice.

Life goes on.

I don't think anyone deserves huge sweeping nerfs. If they adjust something that most people agree is broken that's fine, but taking away or ruining what makes a class interesting and fun just sucks. Zos doesn't seem to know how to make normal adjustments. It's either huge buffs, or more often huge nerfs to everything.

Yea I have a feeling nightblade got nerfed finally because Wrobel is gone and he used to be a nb main wasn't he? Ultimately, I don't think the problem is with the players, the problem is the way the devs have not been balancing classes for pve & PvP properly. Of course the nb mains were fine and then now complain. There's nerf roulette going on as the devs introduce new proc sets and mechanics like daedric weapons for pvp that are meant to be "chaotic" / absolutely not balanced. They pushed racial changes that just switched around what's BiS (example, orc for Stam dps instead of redguard). Literally created a problem then gave freebies, and also sold a solution - race change tokens. I do think magnb was strong in pve but not as much in PvP. This new patch, who knows? I bet everyone will be rolling necromancers anyway.

ive played the same race and class since day one of the xbox, ive seen changes to the cp system, my resource pool, sets, skills and now racial passives, took a couple of days to tweak things about each time but i never complained, sometimes the changes worked out for the better others i hardly noticed and others still hurt alot.

for those complaining about the NB "nerf" as stated before it was only a matter of time
