Magplar or stamplar

Hello, ive been playing a stamplar lately and i have been wanting to try trials. While playing with some guldies last night they told me that its better to be a magplar instead. Im not that experienced with all the high end pve stuff. So im asking you guys should i switch to mag or is there a real noticeable difference? Thank you for helping out.

Why not do both?

Start and level a new Magicka Templar character with the focus of Trial progression in mind.

That way, you can test out both ... and see which one works better for your playstyle.

I have three Templars.

The newer Trials favor ranged play, which is not one of Stamplar's strong points.

While Stamplar can do well in Aetherian Archive, Hel Ra Citadel, Sanctum Ophidia, and Maw of Lorkhaj, they are at slight disadvantage in Halls of Fabrication and more so in Asylum Sanctorum and Cloudrest.


Magplar, particularly Breton Magplar, is in a very good place with Update 21 and would do well in all 7 Trials, particularly Asylum and Cloudrest.

If you tire of the DD role for Magplar, it is easily converted to a powerful healer.

If you tire of Stamplar in PvE, it is fairly simple to convert to an excellent DD in PvP.

I suggest trying Magplar. You will find it the more versatile build and utilizes more class attack skills than Stamplar.

I would wait to till after the patch notes come out tomorrow. Theres suppose to be alot of changes. As of right now magplar has more options.
