"Username or password may be incorrect or inactive at this time" error

As the thread title says, I'm getting this error while trying to log into the game. My account is active and password is correct. I can log in to my account but cannot log in to game. What is the problem?

I've also been having that problem... Then it put me in the login queue. Yay for small progress?

Or is that some kind of test of patience before allowing people to queue for login?

Are you still getting this error when logging in?

Try switching megaservers to see if this is isolated to one server or if it happens on both.

At times. It's happening right now and it is happening on both EU and NA...

What do I do if I get an error stating "Login Error: Login Timeout" when logging into The Elder Scrolls Online?

If you still have issues after doing so, and the servers are up, please start a ticket with customer support for further help.
