Is it against the rules for alliances to cooperate with each other to fight another alliance?

For example, win-trading and the like is obviously something that is against the rules but is it against the rules for someone running an AD raid to cooperate with EP or DC against another alliance?

    Why would it be?

It would make it unfair for the alliance being ganged up on.

How would it be enforced if it is against the rules? I guess it's frowned upon lol but as far as rules...i'd say there are no rules.

As far as enforcement I'm not sure. They have a way to track win-trading in games so maybe something like that?

This is just how pvp goes sometimes.

It is very common for two factions to gang up on the faction in first place or with current emperorship.

No. I mean, sometimes there is even strategical benefits. I know we (DC) have received the aid of EP when there was one keep left for AD to become emperor and they literally outnumbered both factions at that time. So we had to join forces, or just roll over and let AD get emp for free.

No, not even win-trading is specifically against the rules. You could say it falls under cheating ofc, but ZoS won't react or investigate regardless. They likely see it as unsportsmanlike behavior and leave it at that. You also don't gain enough advantage from exchanging kills or keeps with groups from other factions, for ZoS to take action or make a ToS disclaimer.

Even PvE'ers trade kills openly to complete PvP related events. People even write on the forum about kill-trading with buddies to complete stuff, so that's how much of a violation it is.

Was a problem in the past, when entire guilds systematically did emperor-swapping on inactive campaigns and traded AP and map. But ZoS choose to remove the incentive(former emperor passives) and got rid of it that way.

Lol why would it be against the rules? That's strategy

So team purple, team green, and team orange are very possible

When greens are winning and I see 2 purple againts 1 green, I kill green and leave that place to kill other greens in BGs.

Same is for cyro too. Gang up on winning side.

It’s easy to forget that other people could be in the same guild, and or be in voice chat, with people of other alliances. Personally it looks kinda scummy but I’ve seen examples where it’s been necessary, like when EP is being, well, EP, and AD and DC have to coordinate their attacks/keep flagging to change the tide of battle. I’m speaking from PCNA Vivec btw, and I love EP, but sometimes we’re pretty.....potato. Hyper focused on the bridge, losing brk while feeding DC at Ales...the list is long.

Well, it happens in real wars, so why not in pretend wars. The temporarily allied factions will turn on each other as soon as their common enemy is gone, anyway.

On PCNA most AD are or were DC lol. I mean guilds not 1vXers who play all factions. Who cares. Type less, fight more. Lol.

Its not against the rules per se. the only time an alliance should cooperate with another is if the alliance your attacking is emperor and in 1st place on the scoreboard

Any other time its pretty much bullying and fosters an unhealthy PvP experience its no fun and kinda mean to double team an alliance that is in last place and gated

Its definitely something as a community we need to discourage and even shame people and guilds that do this often for the sake of fairness.

Nope not against rules, been happening to DC since day one of Console on Xbox EU, DC vs Aldmeriheart Dominact

^ please note this may be a slightly biased view based on myself witnessing the few groups of AD and EP literally run into each other then nothing, no attacks, but as soon as a blue appeared “Get the blue or they will discover our not-so-secret alliance and tell the others!”

Besides not much could be done about it even it were against the rules, what would ZoS do? Force us to fight each other? Prevent one faction attacking another faction because said faction is already under attack by the 3rd faction? Options that remove the ZoS “Play how you want to play” rule (I think that’s what they say anyway)

More accurately EP and DC zerg to AD scrolls, allow one to take towers while other keeps AD busy. Switch as needed. Later DC and EP mains cry on forums after Late night AD logs in and conqures map.

Why on earth would it be? It's not cheating or match fixing, it's simply players cooperating against their enemies.

Not against the rules, and sometimes it legit happening even without any explicit coordination. I have seem it:
    • around de-emping, when two faction taking the last two emp keep in parallel
    • around emping as well, when the emping faction try to take the last keep they need for emp, and the third faction went to siege one of their already taken keep to prevent them emping
    • one faction has all scrolls, so the other two try to get back their own scroll and ignore each other

Many times it strategically makes sense for two faction be peaceful with each other and focus on the third one.

I laugh at how often people think 2 alliances are communicating and cooperating with a plan.
Heck most of the time you can't even get your own alliance to cooperate with each other.

Ganging up is totally normal. AD are heavily attacking a keep from DC and DC are on their backfoot trying to hold it? You can bet that EP will also attack some of the DC keeps as thats usually a relatively easy capture.

Factions are completely interchangeable in this example.

It's called strategy - you sometimes use it at war.
