IMO, it's not the stacking that's the main problem. A larger issue is the lack of engagement in the core gameplay of attacking and defending objectives. Most objectives have no meaningful defense when attacked.

The vast majority of times when I defend, I get hopelessly zerged down, but not because the enemies couldn't be defeated, but because most of my faction is pvdooring a different objective.

If this was my game, I would immediately remove all flat oticks, get rid of all the idiotic "capture any x keeps/resources" quests, and make end of campaign rewards per-account so players don't come to Cyrodiil for PVE grinding.

I would put the emphasis for earning AP back on contributing to opposition kills. I would make Cyrodiil unappealing to players who actually like soul-crushing-tedious MMO grinds -- which games like this are full of.

I'm not able to PVP as often as I like to, but even when I am, I become nauseated by the thought of it because good experiences are now so few and far between.

Unfortunately, I don't think it's going to change. The idiots who actually enjoy zerging down undefended keeps are probably among the highest paying customers in Cyrodiil. ZOS doesn't care if the gameplay is crap as long as those drones are having fun.

Faction stacking can't happen without groups!
Playing your character the way your character should play is all that matters. Play as well as you can but never betray the character. Doing so would make playing an mmoRPG pointless.

Yea, I’ve never understood why raids are locked at 12 members, yet Cyrodiil allows 24 man groups. This should be broken up into multiple 12 man groups to both split players up & allow for more coordinated group play.

PvDoor is a part of MMO pvp believe it or not. Same thing would happen in a similar past pvp game Warhammer. People would go in circles taking objectives and avoiding each other until a pvp guild would log on and mow them down.

If you’re new to the game and just getting your feet wet with pvp, going with a Zerg and doing some pvp door makes sense. Let the people who’re experienced fight it out and let new players get the basics down first. They need to collect some pvp gear and start working on a serious build to be competitive. It’s the same reason I like MMR.

People seem to get so mad about people ‘pvdooring’. I don’t get it, why limit what other people can do and try to make them play in a way that you find most fun? You do you, let them do them.

I miss 12 mans, but with how healing works it wouldn’t make much of a difference. Last time I was in cyro almost 1/3 of my healing went to people outside my group.

There are some things you can accomplish with smaller groups, but on the whole, the map goes to the faction that stacks better than the others, whether that's having 3 bars compared to 2 during prime time or 1 bar compared to none during night time. If you bring greater numbers, you have a massive advantage.

Always been that way for the most part, that’s why people end up rerolling alliances to shift power.

Hopefully, ZoS can implement something to slow this trend down. It completely ruined GW2 for me.

GW2 turned into alkili Dolmens. Except it was to take keeps. Go in a clockwise rotation. Take an undefended keep, then move on to the next. Right behind you was the enemy, who proceeded to take the keep you just took. No actual PvP, just Pvdoor.

If you really wanted to stir things up you stayed behind at a keep that was just taken. Set up a bunch of siege and try and defend. Instantly there would be zone broadcasts to stop defending plus numerous hate tells asking wtf was I doing slowing down the XP train.

You definitely don't want that happening here. I can already see that playstyle slowly developing here though.

It always seems like people "say" they're re-rolling alliances to shift power however, but from my perspective, out of the 99 people that state this, maybe 10 actually do & the others "switch to the winning team".

I mean... it's exactly what everyone wanted when QQed about ballgroups - to make this game just 1 massive faction zerg. It's been said multiple times that it's gonna be exactly this, now enjoy!

The design litterally encourages this gameplay, unnecessary garbage design in pvp, also the lack of faction identity, also the large size promotes other factions to respond, lack of open group menu makes groups take longer to fourm. No rewards for keeps conquered such as a special dungeon with buffs for your alliance game wide, if anything a smaller map needs made, the seige system is purely ***, not making keeps smaller but with objectives needed to capture them , smaller outposts and camps should litter the land but dont, lack of special play modes, unique OP characters that can be played when outnumbered. Everything is just too damn far away creating zergs do to the time wasted traveling, the lack of unique objectives across the land means groups have nothing to do but zerg.
We had the moors in lotro, it was small but full of logical objectives and choke points, keeps could be defended, dungeons opened and provided i believe it was a crown when brought to the freeps side would buff all players, many objectives through out the map allowed players to do multiple things example a raid could defend a keep while a smaller group would do other.

The biggest plus was simple open group menu, and lotro had raid comands to help lead the group

Ya world pvp here is lackluster although bg's are pimp.
For some reason the class designers think buffing or nerfing is there problem, its not its the class stucture and game encourages cheap tactics to be used as the only way to complete. The underlying skill system is fine but the skills themselves tend to support cheap skills being spammed and lack of group building
